行潦汎濫、橫溢四境、斯難頻至、危在旦夕、爾眾盡為所淹、聞風而驚駭不已。

As often as it comes it will carry you away; morning after morning, by day and by night, it will sweep through.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.

四面的惊吓使他害怕，在他脚跟后面追赶他。

我听见这声音，身体战兢，嘴唇发颤，骨中朽烂，在所立之处战兢；但我安静等候灾难之日临到那上来侵犯我们的民。

“人子啊，你要画定两条路线，使巴比伦王的刀过来，这两条路必从同一地分出来；要在通往城里的路口画手作指标。你要划定一条路，使刀来到亚扪人的拉巴，来到犹大，在坚固城耶路撒冷。因为巴比伦王站在岔路上，在两条路口占卜。他摇签求问神像，察看肝脏；右手是耶路撒冷的占卜，以便安设撞城槌，张口喊杀，扬声呼叫，建土堆，筑堡垒，以撞城槌攻打城门。在那些曾郑重起誓的犹大人眼中，这是虚假的占卜；但巴比伦王要使他们想起自己的罪孽，以便俘掳他们。”

他们对他说：“希西家如此说：‘今日是急难、惩罚、凌辱的日子，就如婴孩快要出生，却没有力气生产。

看哪，他们的英雄在外面哀号，求和的使臣在痛哭。

耶和华对撒母耳说：“看哪，我在以色列中必行一件事，凡听见的人都必双耳齐鸣。

“日月星辰要显出预兆，地上的邦国也有困苦，因海中波浪的响声而惶惶不安。人想到那要临到世界的事，就都吓得魂不附体，因为天上的万象都要震动。

希西家王十四年，亚述王西拿基立上来攻击犹大的一切坚固的城，将城攻取。

于是我—但以理昏倒，病了数日，然后起来办理王的事务。我因这异象惊骇不已，但还是不能了解。

所以耶和华—以色列的神如此说：看哪，我必降祸于耶路撒冷和犹大，凡听见的人都必双耳齐鸣。

这事到此结束。我—但以理因这些念头甚是惊惶，脸色也变了，却将这事记在心里。

说：‘犹大君王和耶路撒冷的居民哪，当听耶和华的话。万军之耶和华—以色列的神如此说：看哪，我必使灾祸临到这地方，凡听见的人都必耳鸣；

当下希勒家的儿子以利亚敬宫廷总管、舍伯那书记，和亚萨的儿子约亚史官都撕裂衣服，来到希西家那里，将亚述将军的话告诉他。

主耶和华赐我受教者的舌头，使我知道怎样用言语扶助疲乏的人。主每天早晨唤醒，唤醒我的耳朵，使我能听，像受教者一样。

何细亚第九年，亚述王攻取了撒玛利亚，把以色列人掳到亚述，安置在哈腊与歌散的哈博河边，以及玛代人的城镇。

耶和华派迦勒底、亚兰、摩押和亚扪人的军队来攻击约雅敬；耶和华派他们来攻击犹大，要毁灭它，正如耶和华藉他仆人众先知所说的话。

祸哉！亚述，我怒气的棍！他们手中的杖是我的恼恨。我要差遣他攻击亵渎的国，吩咐他对付我所恼怒的民，抢走掳物，夺取掠物，将他们践踏，如同街上的泥土一般。
