現在你既然這麼想念你的父家，不得不去，為甚麼又偷了我的神明呢？」

說：「我的弟兄們，請你們不要做這惡事。

拉班帶着他的弟兄們去追他，追了七天，就在基列山追上了。

你僕人中無論在誰那裏找到杯子，就叫他死，我們也要作我主的奴隸。」管家說：「現在就照你們的話做吧！在誰那裏找到杯子，誰就作我的奴隸，其餘的人都沒有罪。」於是他們各人急忙把袋子卸在地上，各人打開自己的袋子。管家就搜查，從年長的開始到年幼的為止，那杯竟在便雅憫的袋子裏找到了。

當時拉班去剪羊毛，拉結偷了他父親家中的神像。

我在這裏，你們要在耶和華和他的受膏者面前為我作證，我奪過誰的牛，搶過誰的驢，欺負過誰，虐待過誰，從誰手裏收過賄賂而蒙蔽自己的眼目呢？若有，我必償還。」眾人說：「你未曾欺負我們，虐待我們，也未曾從任何人手裏收過任何東西。」撒母耳對他們說：「你們在我手裏沒有找着甚麼，有耶和華在你們中間作證，也有他的受膏者今日作證。」他們說：「願耶和華作證。」

我們這樣做，免得有人因我們收的捐款多而挑剔我們。我們留心做好事，不但在主面前，就是在人面前也是這樣。

我所差遣到你們那裏去的人，我何曾藉着他們中的任何人佔過你們的便宜呢？我勸提多到你們那裏去，又差遣那位弟兄與他同去，提多佔過你們的便宜嗎？我們的行事為人不是同一心靈嗎？不是同一步伐嗎？你們一直認為我們是在你們面前為自己辯護嗎？其實，我們本是在基督裏當着神面前說話。親愛的，一切的事都是為了造就你們。

以後你來當面查看我的工資，任何我這裏的山羊不是有點有斑的，小綿羊不是黑色的，就算是我偷的。這就可以證明我是正直的。」

亞伯蘭就對羅得說：「你我不可以相爭，你的牧人和我的牧人也不可以相爭，因為我們是一家人。
