Praise for God’s Mighty Acts

1Let the whole earth shout joyfully to God!66:1 Ps 98:4; 100:1

2Sing about the glory of his name;

make his praise glorious.66:1–2 1Ch 16:29; Ps 48:10

3Say to God, “How awe-inspiring are your works!

Your enemies will cringe before you

because of your great strength.66:3 Ps 18:44; 47:2; 145:6

4The whole earth will worship you

and sing praise to you.

5Come and see the wonders of God;66:5 Ps 46:8

6He turned the sea into dry land,

and they crossed the river on foot.66:6 Ex 14:21; Ps 106:9

7He rules forever by his might;

The rebellious should not exalt themselves.66:7 Ps 140:8Selah

8Bless our God, you peoples;

9He keeps us alive66:9 Lit He sets our soul in life

10For you, God, tested us;

11You lured us into a trap;

12You let men ride over our heads;

we went through fire and water,

13I will enter your house with burnt offerings;

14that my lips promised

and my mouth spoke during my distress.66:14 Ps 18:6; Jnh 2:9

15I will offer you fattened sheep as burnt offerings,

with the fragrant smoke of rams;

I will sacrifice bulls with goats.66:15 Nm 6:14; Ps 51:19Selah

16Come and listen, all who fear God,

and I will tell what he has done for me.66:16 Ps 9:1; 34:11; 71:15,24

17I cried out to him with my mouth,

and praise was on my tongue.66:17 Ps 35:28

18If I had been aware of malice in my heart,

the Lord would not have listened.66:18 Jb 36:21; Jn 9:31

19However, God has listened;

he has paid attention to the sound of my prayer.66:19 Ps 116:1–2

20Blessed be God!

He has not turned away my prayer

or turned his faithful love from me.66:20 Ps 22:24; 68:35
