當吾人尚在肉身之權下、吾人之四肢百體、在在受罪惡之牽引。此罪惡者、生於情慾、滋於律法、終則致死亡之果者也。

For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death.

The power of sin used to control us. The law stirred up sinful desires in us. So the things we did resulted in death.

For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.

When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions aroused through the law were working in us to bear fruit for death.

我儕亦嘗出入其中、徇形軀之情、行身心之欲、本為服怒之輩、如他人然、

且屬基督耶穌者、已以形軀及其情慾、釘於十架矣、○

我故謂爾當依聖神而行、則不縱形軀之慾、蓋形軀之慾禦乎神、神禦形軀、二者相敵、俾爾不行其所欲行、

亦毋獻肢體於罪、為不義之器、惟如自死而生者、獻己於上帝、俾肢體為義之器、以奉上帝、

昔之所行、今日恥之、其效維何、終則死亡、

凡由行律者服詛、記有之、不恆於律之所載而悉行者見詛、

死之鋒罪也、罪之權律也、

故當滅爾在地之肢體、即淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾、及貪婪、貪婪與拜像一也、

爾中之戰鬥爭競、奚自哉、非自戰於爾百體中之慾乎、

且律既至、俾愆益增、罪既增、而恩愈洪矣、

凡行罪者亦行不法、罪即不法也、

蓋律以致怒、無律則無犯、

慾既孕則生罪、罪既成則產死、

從形軀者、不能取悅乎上帝、設上帝之神居爾衷、則爾不從形軀、而從神矣、不有基督之神者、非其徒也、

然覺肢體中別有一律、與我心志之律戰、擄我服於肢體中之罪律、

蓋於上帝前、無人因行律見義、第由律知罪耳、○

使我克供新約之役、非恃文、乃恃靈、蓋文致死、靈致生也、夫致死之役、文鐫諸石、尚以榮而成、因摩西之榮、以色列人不能注視其面、此榮乃暫耳、況恃靈之役、其榮不更甚哉、若致罪之役既榮、則致義之役益榮矣、

蓋惡念、兇殺、淫亂、苟合、盜竊、妄證、訕謗、

故當記憶爾昔以形軀為異邦人、彼於形軀由人手所謂割者、謂爾為無割、

由肉而生者、肉也、由神而生者、神也、

然則將何言耶、律豈罪乎、非也、非由律則我未嘗知罪、如律不言毋欲、則我不知欲、然罪乘機、由誡而動諸欲於我中、蓋無律罪乃死、昔我無律而生、誡至、罪復生而我死、是致生之誡、適以致死、蓋罪乘機因誡誘我、且因之殺我、如是、律聖、誡亦聖、且義且善也、然則善其死我乎、非也、但罪因善而死我、以顯其為罪、俾罪因誡而致其極耳、

是以上帝任其可恥之慾、婦女以順性之用、變為逆性之用、

蓋我儕素亦無知、悖逆、迷惑、役於情慾佚樂、以狠毒媢嫉度生、見惡於人、亦彼此相惡、

因爾形軀之弱、我則以常人所言言之、爾曹曾獻肢體為不潔不法之僕、以至無度、今宜獻肢體為義之僕、以至成聖、

蓋罪之值乃死、上帝之恩賜乃永生、在我主基督耶穌中焉、

夫形軀之行顯著、即淫亂、污穢、邪侈、拜像、巫術、結仇、爭鬥、忌恨、忿怒、釁隙、朋黨、異端、媢嫉、沉湎、荒宴等類、今我告爾、如昔所言、凡行此者、必不承上帝國、

若以貌取人則為罪、乃律所擬為干犯者、人守全律而蹶於一、是干眾律也、
