蓋恃法而行者、無人得稱義於上帝前、法第使人知罪耳、

故無人由遵行律法、得稱義於天主前、蓋由律法可知罪耳、○

蓋徒恃遵行律法、無人能稱義於天主之前；惟因法而知罪耳。

Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

So no one will be considered right with God by obeying the law. Instead, the law makes us more aware of our sin.

For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

既知人之見義、非由行律、乃由信耶穌基督、則信乎耶穌基督、俾由信而見義、不由行律、蓋無人由行律而見義也、

且凡信者、賴彼諸事見義、即於摩西律所不能見義者也、

故我謂人見義由乎信、非由行律也、

蓋律以致怒、無律則無犯、

蓋我由律已死於律、致得生於上帝、

此何故耶、曰不由於信、而由於行、乃蹶於躓人之石、

且律既至、俾愆益增、罪既增、而恩愈洪矣、

蓋上帝許亞伯拉罕及其裔、承嗣世界、非由律、乃由因信之義、

蓋爾以恩得救、由信非由己、乃上帝所賜也、非由乎行、免人自矜、

然則將何言耶、律豈罪乎、非也、非由律則我未嘗知罪、如律不言毋欲、則我不知欲、然罪乘機、由誡而動諸欲於我中、蓋無律罪乃死、昔我無律而生、誡至、罪復生而我死、

非因我行義之功、乃依其矜恤、以重生之盥濯、與聖神之復新、即上帝由我救者耶穌基督厚注我儕者、俾得以其恩而見義、且依永生之望、成為嗣子、

爾欲由律見義者、乃絕於基督、而隕於恩矣、

凡由行律者服詛、記有之、不恆於律之所載而悉行者見詛、無人於上帝前、因律見義也、明矣、蓋義者將由信而生、夫律非本乎信、惟行之者於斯而生也、基督已贖我儕脫律之詛、以其為我儕服詛、記有之、凡懸於木者見詛也、

勿行鞫於爾僕、依爾視之、在世無一義人兮、

蓋律未立、罪已在世、但無律、則不得謂之罪、

虛誕之人歟、豈不知行外之信乃死乎、我祖亞伯拉罕獻子以撒於壇、非由行見義乎、可見其信與行同工、且信由行而成全、乃應經所云、亞伯拉罕信上帝、義遂歸之、且稱為上帝友、由是觀之、人見義乃由行、非獨由信也、如妓喇合納使者、使出他途、非亦由行見義乎、蓋身外乎靈則死、信外乎行亦死也、

在上帝前、非聽律者為義、乃行律者稱義、

主耶和華歟、爾若注意罪愆、孰能卓立兮、

夫上帝不恃其聖者、在其目中、穹蒼猶為不潔、

若以貌取人則為罪、乃律所擬為干犯者、人守全律而蹶於一、是干眾律也、

世人於上帝前、何能為義、婦所生者、何能為潔、在其目中、月無光耀、星不清潔、
