與其使此小子之一陷於罪、寧以巨磨石繫其頸而投於海、

如經載云、我以蹶人之石、礙人之磐、置於郇城、凡信之者、必不致羞愧、

我示爾所當懼者、當懼殺後、又有權投人於磯很拿者、我誠告爾、此當懼也、

時耶穌謂門徒曰、今夜、爾眾皆將為我而躓蹶、蓋經載云、我將擊牧者、而群羊俱散、

凡使此信我之一小子、陷於罪者、寧以磨石懸其頸、沈於深海、禍哉斯世、因有陷人於罪之事、陷人於罪、固所難免、但陷人於罪者禍矣、

惟內無根、亦祇暫時、迨為道而遇難窘逐、即躓蹶矣、

君遂命僕繫其手足、執而投於外幽暗之地、在彼必有哀哭切齒、

耶穌顧彼得謂之曰、撒但退、爾阻我、因爾不念天主之事、乃念人之事也、

勿以食故、毀天主之工、凡物皆潔、但以食而使人躓礙、則惡矣、但以食而使人躓礙則惡矣或作但人有疑而食致妨其心則為有罪寧不食肉、不飲酒、無論何事、毋使兄弟或躓或礙、或信不堅、

故食物若使我兄弟躓蹶、則我永不食肉、免我使我兄弟躓蹶也、

兄弟乎、若我仍傳割禮、何至尚受窘逐乎、若傳割禮、則十字架之道、不被人厭棄矣、
