舟長就之曰、睡者歟、奚若此、其起禱爾神、庶神眷念我儕、免致死亡、

The captain went to him and said,“ How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

So the captain went down after him.“ How can you sleep at a time like this?” he shouted.“ Get up and pray to your god! Maybe he will pay attention to us and spare our lives.”

The captain approached him and said,“ What are you doing sound asleep? Get up! Call to your god. Maybe this god will consider us, and we won’t perish.”

So the captain came to him, and said to him,“ What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.”

So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

The captain approached him and said,“ What are you doing sound asleep? Get up! Call to your god. Maybe this god will consider us, and we won’t perish.”

Who knows? God may turn and relent and turn from his fierce anger, so that we may not perish.”

Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help.Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

He said,“ While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said,‘ Who knows whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live?’

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling.But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him,“ Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea,“ Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.He said to them,“ Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”And they were filled with great fear and said to one another,“ Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

Then Paul answered,“ What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

When he killed them, they sought him; they repented and sought God earnestly.

who say to a tree,‘ You are my father,’ and to a stone,‘ You gave me birth.’ For they have turned their back to me, and not their face. But in the time of their trouble they say,‘ Arise and save us!’But where are your gods that you made for yourself? Let them arise, if they can save you, in your time of trouble; for as many as your cities are your gods, O Judah.

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.

they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death.Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.

“ Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”

What do you mean by crushing my people, by grinding the face of the poor?” declares the Lord God of hosts.
