人亦如是、寢而不興、迨天終盡、無復覺寤、長眠不起、

非然者、則已宴然而臥、安然而寢、

在我往而不返之先、未至幽冥陰翳之地、其地昏黑幽冥、陰翳混沌、其光乃暗、

但今之天地、以是命而存以待火、留至鞫日、即惡人淪亡之日也、○

我知爾必致我於死、入為羣生所定之室、

然主日將至、如盜然、是日諸天訇然而逝、體質俱為烈火所化、地與其間之造作盡爇焉、諸物既將如是消滅、則爾之為人、當如何清潔虔敬哉、企慕上帝之日至、諸天因而焚毀、有體質者悉以烈火銷鎔之、我儕依其所許、希望新天新地、義寓其中焉、○

斯必滅沒、惟爾恆存、此皆如衣漸舊、爾將易之如服、則俱改變兮、

蓋受造之物服於虛、非其本願、因服之者之故耳、

我造新天新地、已往之事、不復記誌、不縈於懷、

人所遇者、獸亦遇之、人與獸所遇惟一、此之死猶彼之死、同一氣之呼吸、人無所愈於獸、悉屬虛空、俱歸一所、俱出於土、俱歸於土、人之神或升於上、獸之魂或降於地、其誰知之、

若信耶穌死而復起、則宗耶穌而寢者、上帝亦將引與俱來、我以主言告爾、迨主臨時、我儕生存者、不先乎已寢者、

耶和華又曰、我所造之新天新地、常存於我前、爾之苗裔、及爾之名、亦必永存、

故曰、寐者宜寤、自死而起、基督將照爾矣、○

天地必廢、我言不廢、

何不赦我過、宥我愆、以我將臥於土、爾勤求我、已不在焉、

言竟、又曰、我儕之友拉撒路寢矣、我往寤之、門徒曰、主、寢則將愈矣、耶穌此言、乃指其死、門徒意其謂安寢也、

長眠於塵土者、多有復醒、得永生者有之、蒙羞而受永辱者有之、

爾其仰觀上天、俯察下土、諸天必散若煙、大地必敝若衣、居民之死、有如蚊蚋、惟我之拯救永存、我之公義不廢、○

爾之死者將甦、我之屍身盡起、居塵土者、其醒而歌、因爾之露、乃光澤之露也、地將出其幽魂焉、○

我知我之救者維生、終必立於地上、我膚敗後、尚於形軀之外、得覲上帝、我將親見之、目睹之、非外人見之、我心乃消於中矣、

登高則恐懼、行路則悚惶、杏樹放葩、蝗蟲體重、酸豆失其補力、人歸永居之所、弔者往來於衢、
