So God again ordains a certain day,“ Today,” speaking through David after so long a time, as in the words quoted before,“ O, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts.”

God again set a certain day, calling it“ Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:“ Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

So God again chose a certain day. He named it Today. He did this when he spoke through David a long time later. Here is what was written in the Scripture already given.“ Listen to his voice today. If you hear it, don’t be stubborn.”( Psalm 95:7, 8)

So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted:“ Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”

As it says,“ Oh, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

David himself, by the Holy Spirit, said,‘ The Lord said to my lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.”’

David by foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did his body experience decay.

“ Brothers, I can speak confidently to you about our forefather David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites left Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, during the month Ziv( the second month), he began building the LORD’s temple.

So they began to leave, unable to agree among themselves, after Paul made one last statement:“ The Holy Spirit spoke rightly to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah

These are the final words of David:“ The oracle of David son of Jesse, the oracle of the man raised up as the ruler chosen by the God of Jacob, Israel’s beloved singer of songs:The LORD’s spirit spoke through me; his word was on my tongue.

For David himself says in the book of Psalms,‘ The Lord said to my lord,“ Sit at my right hand,

All this took about four hundred fifty years. After this he gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet.Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years.After removing him, God raised up David their king. He testified about him:‘ I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my heart, who will accomplish everything I want him to do.’From the descendants of this man God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised.

He said to them,“ How then does David by the Spirit call him‘ Lord,’ saying,
