遂以異邦上帝之像、及耳環以予雅各、藏之示劍橡下。

So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.

示劍人與米羅一族咸集、立亞庇米力為王、在示劍汛之橡下。

是日約書亞與民立約、設法度禮儀於示劍。○以是言錄於上帝律例册、立大石於橡下、近耶和華聖室。

敵人乃以實馬利後裔、故有金環。其田謂民曰、我求爾眾、以所得之鼻環給我。曰固我所願。遂布衣於地、各以所得鼻環擲於其中。除米田王所佩之金、形如月弦、所垂之耳環、所衣之赤衣、及駝項之金索而外、其田所得之金環、重八百五十兩。用之作公服、置於己邑阿弗拉、以色列族狥欲、崇事公服、陷其田與其家於坎阱、職由斯故。

耶和華曰、越在疇昔、斯民焚香、奉事巴力、違逆乎我、譬彼婦女、以耳環金索、修飾自好、從其所懽、故我必加以罰、

取犢爇以火、擣為粉、揚於水、令以色列族飲之、

是日也、人以所作之金銀偶像、居恆所崇拜者、投於鼹鼠蝙蝠之穴。

必摧其壇、毀其像、斫其偶、所雕刻之形、燬之以火、爾之待彼必如是。

雕刻之像、像上帝者、乃爾上帝耶和華所惡、必燬以火、如其上飾以金銀、爾毋貪毋取、恐陷爾於罪。

爾之偶像、飾以金銀、爾必視之為污衊、若不潔之布、去之惟恐不遠、

亞倫曰、爾妻孥垂耳之金環、脫以予我。民即脫之、以授亞倫。亞倫受之、鎔鑄其金、刀刻為犢、有稱之者曰、以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。
