實際上眾民中有大部分、屬以法蓮、瑪拿西、以薩迦、西布倫的人、許多沒有潔淨自己、便喫逾越節的羊羔，不遵照所記載的例：希西家就為他們禱告說：『凡立定心意、專一尋求上帝、永恆主他們列祖的上帝的，雖不遵照潔聖的潔淨禮，但願至善的永恆主也赦宥他。』

摩西看着一切的工，見他們都作了；永恆主怎樣吩咐，他們就怎樣作。於是摩西給他們祝福。

於是王轉臉四顧，給以色列全體大眾祝福，以色列全體大眾都站着。

他給亞伯蘭祝福說：『願天地的製作主、至高者上帝，賜福與亞伯蘭！

然後祭司利未人們就起來，給眾民祝福；他們的聲音得蒙垂聽，他們的禱告達到天上、上帝的聖居所。

因為這麥基洗德、撒冷的王、至高上帝的祭司、是一直做祭司、永續不斷的。當亞伯拉罕從諸王之被擊敗回來的時候，他去迎接亞伯拉罕，給他祝福；亞伯拉罕就從所得的各樣物件取了十分之一、分給他。麥基洗德翻出來，第一是「公義王」；其次是「撒冷王」、是「泰平王」的意思。他無父、無母、無族譜；他日子也無始，生命也無終：他被形成為跟上帝的兒子相似，繼續做祭司、永續不斷。你們想想，族長亞伯拉罕由上等的戰利品中取了十分之一獻給他，這人是多麼尊大啊！那些領受祭司職任的利未子孫、按律法受命令向人民收取了十分之一，向他們自己的弟兄收取，雖則弟兄們同是從亞伯拉罕腰腎中生出來的。惟獨那不算為他們的世系的、倒收取了亞伯拉罕的十分之一，並給那擁有應許的亞伯拉罕祝福呢。卑小的蒙尊優的祝福、是一無可駁的。

上帝挺生了他的僕人，是差遣他先到你們這裏來，給你們祝福，叫你們各人回轉、離開你們的邪惡的。』
