Lamentations 1:20 - “Look, O Lord, for I am in distress; my stomach churns; my heart is wrung within me, because I have been very rebellious. In the street the sword bereaves; in the house it is like death.
Lamentations 4:4 - The tongue of the nursing infant sticks to the roof of its mouth for thirst; the children beg for food, but no one gives to them.
Lamentations 4:5 - Those who once feasted on delicacies perish in the streets; those who were brought up in purple embrace ash heaps.
Lamentations 4:6 - For the chastisement of the daughter of my people has been greater than the punishment of Sodom, which was overthrown in a moment, and no hands were wrung for her.
Lamentations 4:7 - Her princes were purer than snow, whiter than milk; their bodies were more ruddy than coral, the beauty of their form was like sapphire.
Lamentations 4:8 - Now their face is blacker than soot; they are not recognized in the streets; their skin has shriveled on their bones; it has become as dry as wood.
Lamentations 4:9 - Happier were the victims of the sword than the victims of hunger, who wasted away, pierced by lack of the fruits of the field.
Lamentations 4:10 - The hands of compassionate women have boiled their own children; they became their food during the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Deuteronomy 28:52 - “They shall besiege you in all your towns, until your high and fortified walls, in which you trusted, come down throughout all your land. And they shall besiege you in all your towns throughout all your land, which the Lord your God has given you.
Deuteronomy 28:53 - And you shall eat the fruit of your womb, the flesh of your sons and daughters, whom the Lord your God has given you, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemies shall distress you.
Deuteronomy 28:54 - The man who is the most tender and refined among you will begrudge food to his brother, to the wife he embraces, and to the last of the children whom he has left,
Deuteronomy 28:55 - so that he will not give to any of them any of the flesh of his children whom he is eating, because he has nothing else left, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in all your towns.
Deuteronomy 28:56 - The most tender and refined woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because she is so delicate and tender, will begrudge to the husband she embraces, to her son and to her daughter,
Deuteronomy 28:57 - her afterbirth that comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears, because lacking everything she will eat them secretly, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in your towns.
Lamentations 1:9 - Her uncleanness was in her skirts; she took no thought of her future; therefore her fall is terrible; she has no comforter. “O Lord, behold my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed!”

1 Samuel 30:11 - They found an Egyptian in the open country and brought him to David. And they gave him bread and he ate. They gave him water to drink,

2 Kings 6:25 - And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove’s dung for five shekels of silver.
Lamentations 2:12 - They cry to their mothers, “Where is bread and wine?” as they faint like a wounded man in the streets of the city, as their life is poured out on their mothers’ bosom.
Jeremiah 38:9 - “My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they did to Jeremiah the prophet by casting him into the cistern, and he will die there of hunger, for there is no bread left in the city.”
Jeremiah 52:6 - On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.
