3How long will you threaten a man?

4They only plan to bring him down

from his high position.

They take pleasure in lying;

they bless with their mouths,

but they curse inwardly. Ps 4:2; 55:21Selah

5Rest in God alone, my soul,

for my hope comes from Him. Ps 71:5

7My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock.

My refuge is in God. Ps 18:2

8Trust in Him at all times, you people;

pour out your hearts before Him.

God is our refuge. Ps 91:2; 118:8-9Selah

9Men are only a vapor;

exalted men, an illusion.

Weighed in the scales, they go up;

together they are less than a vapor. Ps 39:5-6,11; Is 40:17

10Place no trust in oppression,

or false hope in robbery.

If wealth increases,

pay no attention to it. Lit increases, do not set heart Jb 31:24-25; Mk 4:19; 1Tm 6:10,17-19

11God has spoken once;

I have heard this twice:

strength belongs to God, Jb 40:5

12and faithful love belongs to You, Lord.

For You repay each according to his works. Mt 16:27; Rm 2:6; Rv 22:12
