Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.

Then the Lord showed me Joshua the high priest. He was standing in front of the angel of the Lord. Satan was standing to the right of Joshua. He was there to bring charges against the high priest.

Next I saw Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before Yahweh’s angel, and Satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.

Also take silver and gold, make an ornate crown, and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

Appoint a wicked person over him, And may an accuser stand at his right hand.

And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,“ Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night.

In the second year of Darius the king, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the Lord came by the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to rebuild the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says:“ If you return, then I will restore you— You will stand before Me; And if you extract the precious from the worthless, You will become My spokesman. They, for their part, may turn to you, But as for you, you are not to turn to them.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.The Lord said to Satan,“ From where do you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said,“ From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.”The Lord said to Satan,“ Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”Then Satan answered the Lord,“ Does Job fear God for nothing?Have You not made a fence around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.But reach out with Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will certainly curse You to Your face.”Then the Lord said to Satan,“ Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not reach out and put your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.

Yes, he wrestled with the angel and prevailed; He wept and implored His favor. He found Him at Bethel, And there He spoke with us,And the Lord, the God of armies, The Lord is His name.

Then I said,“ What are these, my lord?” And the angel who was speaking with me said to me,“ I will show you what these are.”

“ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen; to him you shall listen.

“ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to sift you men like wheat;

And he still holds firm to his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.”Satan answered the Lord and said,“ Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has, he will give for his life.However, reach out with Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face!”So the Lord said to Satan,“ Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life.”Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with severe boils from the sole of his foot to the top of his head.And Job took a piece of pottery to scrape himself while he was sitting in the ashes.

Now listen, Joshua, you high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you— indeed they are men who are a sign: for behold, I am going to bring in My servant the Branch.

But now take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord,‘ take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the Lord,‘ and work; for I am with you,’ declares the Lord of armies.

My sons, do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, and to be His ministers and burn incense.”

“ Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.Be attentive to him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your rebellion, since My name is in him.

Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not being consumed.So Moses said,“ I must turn aside and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burning up!”When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said,“ Moses, Moses!” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then He said,“ Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”And He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

“ Behold, I am sending My messenger, and he will clear a way before Me. And the Lord, whom you are seeking, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of armies.

Therefore He said that He would destroy them, If Moses, His chosen one, had not stood in the gap before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.

But stay alert at all times, praying that you will have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

The angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the boys; And may my name live on in them, And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

“ After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning thorn bush.When Moses saw it, he was astonished at the sight; and as he approached to look more closely, the voice of the Lord came:‘ I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses shook with fear and did not dare to look closely.But the Lord said to him,‘ Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.I have certainly seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to rescue them; and now come, I will send you to Egypt.’“ This Moses whom they disowned, saying,‘ Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush.This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your countrymen.’This is the one who was in the assembly in the wilderness together with the angel who spoke to him at length on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to you.

“ But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who took responsibility for My sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray from Me, shall come near to Me to serve Me; and they shall stand before Me to offer Me the fat and the blood,” declares the Lord God.

And the men of Beth shemesh said,“ Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? And to whom will He go up from us?”

Then Satan stood up against Israel and incited David to count Israel.

So I said to the angel who was speaking with me,“ What are these?” And he said to me,“ These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house and ministering in the house; they shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them.

At that time the Lord singled out the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to serve Him and to bless in His name, until this day.

And I will make enemies Of you and the woman, And of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

And the Lord responded to the angel who was speaking with me with gracious words, comforting words.

Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, just as the Lord their God had sent him. And the people showed reverence for the Lord.
