爾之光輝、亦當燭照世人、庶幾世人皆見爾善行、而歸榮於爾在天之父。

及時昭著、而發為福音者也。予奉天主救主之命、而得以福音為己任焉。

爾等與異邦人雜處、尤宜慎自檢點、勉立善表、務使謗爾者見爾善行、而頌揚天主於眷顧之日。

是故吾以因主被囚之身、剴切勸爾修身砥行、無忝爾之聖召、

心地務求光明磊落、無愧無怍、庶幾因爾從基督而謗爾者、見爾所為皆善、而自慚其誣。

凡善理教務之長老、當倍加優待、尤以從事於傳道及教訓者為然。

所望爾等立身處世、日用之間、在在以無忝基督之福音為念；且不僅於爾我相晤時為然、即暫相睽隔、亦願聞爾等團結一致、堅立不移、

夫人忠於小事、亦必忠於大事、不義於小事、亦必不義於大事。

最後尚有一言、以奉兄弟：凡屬真實無妄、溫雅有度、公正高尚、可愛可喜、可歌可泣之事、苟有一德之美、片善之著、皆爾所當盡心也。

設有忠智之僕、受家主之託、督其家人、按時給食；

俾成完人、而為天主之孝子、處邪污之世、而能保守清白、明如日月、照耀乾坤；使惟生之道、因爾益彰。如是則予平生之所為僕僕風塵、不遑寧息者、庶幾不為徒勞、且得揚眉吐氣於基督之日矣。

凡身為奴僕者、當尊敬其主人、庶免天主聖名聖道之被人褻瀆。

惟願求賢良。與我共國事。簡拔忠實徒。充我心腹吏。

夫世之所求於司庫者、亦惟忠信而已矣。

奉吾救主天主、及吾人所仰望者基督耶穌之恩命、而為基督耶穌之宗徒者、葆樂

若有人宣傳異端、而不服膺吾主耶穌基督之至言妙理、以及奉事天主之正道、

對曰：「油百簍。」曰：「請收回尊券、速坐、改書五十。」又問其次曰：「汝負幾何？」曰：「麥百斛。」曰：「請收回尊券、改書八十。」掌家固不義、然其深思遠慮、即其主人、亦不能不為之歎佩。蓋世俗子之所以謀身者、有敏於光明子之所以謀道者焉。

然彼作斯言非在恤貧、蓋其貪污成性、掌囊而恆竊所貯耳。

惟兩人相商、私留數金、而以所餘獻宗徒。伯鐸祿曰：『亞拿尼亞爾何沙殫蒙心、私藏所得、以欺聖神乎？
