對潔淨的人，一切都是潔淨的；對汙穢和不信的人，沒有一樣是潔淨的，就是他們的理性和良心也都被汙穢了。

在洁净的人，凡物都洁净；在污秽不信的人，什么都不洁净，连心地和天良也都污秽了。

由潔者視之、凡物皆潔；若由不潔不信者視之、則萬物皆污、實則其心地自不淨耳。

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

To people who are pure, all things are pure. But to those who have twisted minds and don’t believe, nothing is pure. In fact, their minds and their sense of what is right and wrong are twisted.

我知道，並且在主耶穌裡深信：沒有一樣東西本身是不潔淨的。只是，如果有人認為什麼是不潔淨的，對他來說，那就是不潔淨的。

不要因食物的緣故破壞神的工作。一切固然都是潔淨的，但如果有人因吃東西使人絆腳，這就是惡事了。

「什麼事都可以做」，但不都有益處；「什麼事都可以做」，但不都造就人。

他們禁止結婚，要求遠避某些食物，就是神所創造的，好讓信徒和了解真理的人以感謝的心享用。原來神所造的一切都是美好的；如果以感謝的心領受，就什麼也不用丟棄，

但那疑惑的人如果吃了，就被定罪了，因為不是本於信；而一切不是本於信的，就是罪。

「什麼事我都可以做」，但不都有益處；「什麼事我都可以做」，但我卻不受任何事的轄制。「食物是為了肚子，肚子是為了食物」，但神將要把這兩樣都廢除。身體不是為了淫亂，而是為了主；主也是為了身體。

主就對他說：「如今你們法利賽人洗淨杯子、盤子的外面，但你們裡面卻充滿著貪心和惡意。你們這些愚妄的人！那位造了外面的，不也造了裡面嗎？不過你們當把裡面的施捨給人，看哪，對你們來說一切就都潔淨了。

而從口裡出來的，是由心裡發出的，這些才使人汙穢。

因此，你們無論或吃、或喝、或做什麼，一切都要為神的榮耀而做。

那聲音第二次又對他說：「神所潔淨的，你不可當做汙穢的。」

然而，不是所有的人都有這知識。有些人因習慣了偶像，至今還以為所吃的是祭過偶像的食物。他們的良心因為軟弱，就被玷汙了。

肉市上所賣的一切，你們都可以吃；不要為了良心的緣故而問什麼，

更何況基督的血呢！基督藉著永恆的聖靈，將自己毫無瑕疵地獻給神，他的血難道不能潔淨我們的良心脫離致死的行為，使我們事奉永生的神嗎？

既然我們的心被血灑過，脫離了罪惡感，身體也被清水洗淨了，就讓我們懷著真誠的心，以確信不移的信仰近前來；

他在那些理性敗壞、喪失真理、以為敬神是得利之道的人中，引發無休止的爭吵。

「你要對這地所有的民眾和祭司說：『這七十年來，你們在五月和七月禁食、哀哭，是真的為我禁食嗎？當你們吃喝的時候，難道不是為自己吃，為自己喝嗎？

高傲的眼、驕橫的心，都是惡人的燈，都是罪。

因此無論誰，不合宜地吃主的餅、喝主的杯，就是干犯主的身體、主的血。這樣，一個人應當省察自己，然後才吃這餅、喝這杯。因為那吃喝的人，如果不分辨主的身體，就是吃喝對自己的懲罰了。
