而亞伯漢之苗裔、亦非必盡為其子女。經云：『惟依灑格所生、乃得稱為汝裔。』

也不因为是亚伯拉罕的后裔就都作他的儿女；惟独“从以撒生的才要称为你的后裔。”

亦非因其為亞伯拉罕之裔、遂盡為子、經云、由於以撒者、乃謂爾裔也、

為亞伯拉罕裔者、不得盡為嗣子、經云、惟出自以撒者、得謂爾裔焉、

亦非因係亞伯拉罕之裔、皆得為子、經載主云、惟由以撒而生者、方可稱為爾裔、

Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary,“ It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”

Not everyone in Abraham’s family line is really his child. Not at all! Scripture says,“ Your family line will continue through Isaac.”( Genesis 21:12)

and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but“ Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

Being descendants of Abraham doesn’t make them truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say,“ Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,” though Abraham had other children, too.

Neither is it the case that all of Abraham’s children are his descendants. On the contrary, your offspring will be traced through Isaac.

nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but:“ through Isaac your descendants shall be named.”

nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but,“ In Isaac your seed shall be called.”

neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Neither are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants. On the contrary, your offspring will be traced through Isaac.

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham,[ are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

nor are all the children Abraham’s true descendants; rather“ through Isaac will your descendants be counted.”

Neither, because they are Abraham’s offspring, are they all children. But,“ your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac.”

天主曾謂之曰：『依灑格當為爾後裔之根。

予亦知爾為亞伯漢之子孫、顧爾仍欲置予於死、以爾心中不容吾道故。凡予所言、乃所見於吾父者；凡爾所行、乃所見於爾父者也。』彼等應曰：『吾父亞伯漢也。』耶穌曰：『苟為亞伯漢之後、則應為亞伯漢之所為矣。

吾人苟能以天主之精神、昭事天主、一心以基督耶穌為榮、而不恃形體、斯則真受割禮矣。

宜結美果、用副悛悔之心。莫道有亞伯漢為我大父！蓋吾語爾、天主固能化此頑石為亞伯漢之後裔也。

然婢女之子、乃因肉情而生；而主婦之子、則憑恩諾而生。

曰「大父亞伯漢乎！斯未必可也。若有人自死者中起而往告之、則若輩必幡然悔悟矣。」

乃竭聲而呼曰：「大父亞伯漢、其垂憐焉！予處燄中、苦不堪言、請發辣柴魯沾水指尖、以涼吾舌。」亞伯漢曰：「兒乎、當憶汝生前如何享樂、辣柴魯如何受苦、今則彼見慰、而汝受罪矣。

若輩應曰：『吾輩乃亞伯漢之子孫、未嘗見奴於人、爾亦安得曰：「吾人將獲自由」乎？』
