Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

So no one will be considered right with God by obeying the law. Instead, the law makes us more aware of our sin.

For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

既知人得稱義非由行律法、乃由信耶穌基督、故我儕亦信耶穌基督、欲由信基督稱義、不由行律法、蓋無人由行律法得稱義也、

爾恃摩西律法而不得赦之罪、凡信者可恃此人而得赦焉、

故我儕謂人得稱義、由信、非由行律法、

蓋律法致刑、無律法則無過犯、

我由律法、而為律法已死、使我可為天主而生、

此何故、曰、因非由信而求、乃由行而求、蓋蹶於此蹶人之石上、

律法立、致罪增益、然罪增益之處、恩寵更裕、

蓋亞伯拉罕及其後裔、蒙許將為嗣子以嗣世界、非由律法、乃由信之義、

蓋爾曹因信、以恩得救、此非由己、乃天主所賜也、亦非由功、免人自誇、

然則何言、律法即罪乎、非也、然非由律法、我不識罪、律法若不云勿貪、則我不識貪、罪藉律法而乘機、使多慾動於我中、無律法、則罪死矣、昔我無律法而生、誡至、罪生而我死、

拯救我、非由我行義之功、乃由其矜恤、使我受洗重生、賜我聖神以復新、原文作拯救我非由我行義之功乃由重生之洗與聖神之復新而救我儕聖神乃天主因我救主耶穌基督、厚賜我儕、使我賴其恩寵而得稱義、希望為嗣子得永生、

爾欲恃律法稱義者、棄基督絕於恩矣、

凡恃行律法之功者、皆服詛、蓋經載云、凡不恆遵律法書所載而盡行之者、服詛也、無人恃律法、在天主前得稱義明矣、蓋經云、義人由信得生、律法不本乎信、惟云、若行此、則因之得生、基督已贖我脫律法之詛、以其為我而服詛、蓋經云、凡懸於木者服詛也、

求主莫追詰追詰或作審鞫僕人、因在主前無人得稱為義、

未立律法之先、罪已在世、第無律法、罪猶不為罪、

無知者乎、爾欲知無行之信乃死乎、我祖亞伯拉罕獻其子以撒於祭臺、非由行而稱義乎、爾可見信乃助其行、且信由行而得全備也、乃應經所載云、亞伯拉罕信天主、其信則視為其義、彼且稱為天主之友、爾由是以觀、人得稱為義、非獨由信、乃由行也、妓拉合納使者、俾由他路而歸、非亦由行而稱義乎、身無靈則死、信無行亦死也、

在天主前、非聞律法者為義、乃遵律法者稱義、

主若究察罪愆、主歟、何人能立、

天主之聖者、天主尚且不信、在天主目中、天尚為不潔、

爾若以貌取人則獲罪、被律法所譴為犯法者、守全律法而犯一誡、即犯諸誡、

在天主前、世人豈得為義、婦之所生、豈得言潔、在天主前、月亦不足為明、在天主目中、眾星不足為潔、
