For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

蓋恃法而行者、無人得稱義於上帝前、法第使人知罪耳、

故無人由遵行律法、得稱義於天主前、蓋由律法可知罪耳、○

蓋徒恃遵行律法、無人能稱義於天主之前；惟因法而知罪耳。

Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

So no one will be considered right with God by obeying the law. Instead, the law makes us more aware of our sin.

For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

For no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.

For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.

Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone,

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said,“ You shall not covet.”But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead.I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died.

he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written,“ Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.”Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for“ The righteous shall live by faith.”But the law is not of faith, rather“ The one who does them shall live by them.”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us— for it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—

Enter not into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.

for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.

Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works;and the Scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”— and he was called a friend of God.You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

Behold, God puts no trust in his holy ones, and the heavens are not pure in his sight;

But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.

How then can man be in the right before God? How can he who is born of woman be pure?Behold, even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure in his eyes;
