就是說，我們如果活著，是為主而活；如果死了，是為主而死。所以，我們無論是活著，還是死了，總是屬於主。

我们若活着，是为主而活；若死了，是为主而死。所以，我们或活或死总是主的人。

蓋吾人之生也、為主而生；死也、為主而死；生為主之徒、死為主之屬、如是而已矣。

If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

If we live, we live to honor the Lord. If we die, we die to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.

我的熱切盼望和期待是：我在任何事上都將不至於蒙羞；而現在也能像往常一樣，無論藉著生，還是藉著死，總要滿有膽量地讓基督在我身上被尊為大。

基督替我們死，為要使我們無論是醒著還是睡著，都與他一同活著。

不過每個人要按著自己的次序：初熟的果子是基督；然後他來臨的時候，是那些屬於基督的人；

這時候保羅說：「你們為什麼哭，使我心碎呢？我為了主耶穌的名，不僅被捆綁，即使死在耶路撒冷，也都預備好了。」

然而，即使我被做為奠祭，澆在你們信仰的祭物和服事上，我也歡喜，並且和你們大家一同歡喜；

就是說，大衛雖然在自己的世代，遵行了神的計劃之後就睡了，歸到他祖先那裡，並且經歷了腐朽，

我們既然相信耶穌死而復活了，照樣也相信，那些藉著耶穌已經睡了的人，神將要把他們與耶穌一同帶來。的確，我們現在照著主的話告訴你們這一點：我們這些活著存留到主來臨的人，絕不會在那些已經睡了的人之先，因為在發令的呼喊聲中，在天使長的聲音和神的號角聲中，主要親自從天降臨，而且那些在基督裡死去的人要先復活，然後我們這些還活著存留的人，要與他們一同被提到雲裡，在空中與主相會。這樣，我們就要永遠與主在一起了。所以，你們當用這些話彼此鼓勵。

接著，我聽見有聲音從天上傳來，說：「你當寫下：從今以後，在主裡死去的人是蒙福的！」聖靈說：「是的！他們將脫離自己的勞苦進入安息，因為他們的作為將伴隨著他們。」

因為他為了基督的工作，幾乎至死，冒了生命的危險，為要彌補你們服事我的缺乏。

但是我不把自己的生命看為寶貴，為要跑盡我該跑的路程，完成從主耶穌所領受的服事工作，為神恩典的福音鄭重地做見證。

耶穌說這話，是指彼得將會以怎樣的死來榮耀神。說了這話，耶穌對他說：「你跟從我！」

無論是保羅、是阿波羅、是磯法、是世界、是生、是死、是現在的事、是將來的事，全都屬於你們；而你們屬於基督，基督屬於神。
