For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed— a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written:“ The righteous will live by faith.”

The good news shows God’s power to make people right with himself. God’s power to be made right with him is given to the person who has faith. It happens by faith from beginning to end. It is written,“ The one who is right with God will live by faith.”( Habakkuk 2:4)

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written,“ The righteous shall live by faith.”

This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say,“ It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

看哪，恶人自高自大，心不正直；惟义人必因他的信得生。

没有一个人靠着律法在神面前称义，这是明显的，因为经上说：“义人必因信得生。”

并且得以在他里面，不是有自己因律法而得的义，而是有信基督的义，就是基于信，从神而来的义，

只是我的义人必因信得生；他若退缩，我心就不喜欢他。”

这样，我们要怎么说呢？那不追求义的外邦人却获得了义，就是因信而获得的义。

但如今，神的义在律法之外已经显明出来，有律法和先知为证：

没有信，就不能讨神的喜悦，因为到神面前来的人必须信有神，并且信他会赏赐寻求他的人。因着信，挪亚既蒙神指示他未见的事，动了敬畏的心，造了方舟，使他全家得救。藉此他定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那从信而来的义。

即使有不信的，这又何妨呢？难道他们的不信就废掉神的信实吗？

信子的人有永生；不信子的人得不到永生，而且神的愤怒常在他身上。”
