One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast.

你所看見的那獸，先前在而現今不在，並將要從無底坑裡上來，然後走向滅亡。住在地上的人，凡是名字從創世以來沒有被記在生命冊上的，看見那先前在而現今不在，並將要出現的獸時，都會感到驚奇。

藉著那些奇蹟，就是牠被准許在第一隻獸面前所行的奇蹟，牠就迷惑了住在地上的人，告訴住在地上的人，要為那受刀傷卻活過來的獸，造一個像。

他們目的一致，把自己的能力和權柄交給那獸。

因為神把意念放在他們心中，要他們實現他的目的，要他們行事目的一致，並把十隻角的王權交給那獸，直到神的話語成就。

接著，我看見一隻獸從海裡上來。牠有十隻角和七個頭，十隻角上戴著十個王冠，七個頭上都有褻瀆的名號。我所看見的這獸，彷彿一隻豹，牠的腳像熊的腳，口像獅子的口。龍把自己的能力、王位和大權交給了這獸。

牠在第一隻獸的面前，施行第一隻獸的一切權柄，強迫大地和住在地上的人來膜拜第一隻獸，就是致命傷得了痊癒的那獸。

所有的人，從卑微的到尊貴的，都聽從他。他們說：「這個人就是那被稱為『神的大能者』的。」他們聽從他，因為他長期以來用邪術使他們十分驚訝。

五個已經倒了，一個還在，另一個還沒有到來；他來的時候，必須存留片刻。

這不法之人的到來，是出於撒旦的作為，對那些正在滅亡的人，使用一切能力、虛假的神蹟和奇事，並且使用一切不義的詭計，因為他們不接受那能使他們得救的真理之愛。為此，神就把一種迷惑人的力量送進他們裡面，使他們相信虛假之事，好使所有不相信真理而喜悅不義的人，都被定罪。

連西門自己也信了。他受洗以後，常常跟著腓利，看見所行出來的神蹟和大能，就十分驚訝。

隨後，我看見那女人喝醉了聖徒們的血，以及為耶穌做見證之人的血。我看到她就大大驚奇。

於是法利賽人互相說：「可見你們真沒用！看，這世界都跟隨他去了。」

就在那些日子裡，凱撒奧古斯都頒布諭令，要普天下的人都登記戶口。
