For there is no mention of You in death; In Sheol, who will praise You?

“ What gain is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.It is the living who give thanks to You, as I do today; A father tells his sons about Your faithfulness.

“ For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail.Though its roots grow old in the ground, And its stump dies in the dry soil,At the scent of water it will flourish And produce sprigs like a plant.But a man dies and lies prostrate. A person passes away, and where is he?As water evaporates from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dried up,So a man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens no longer exist, He will not awake nor be woken from his sleep.

Your dead will live; Their corpses will rise. You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy, For your dew is as the dew of the dawn, And the earth will give birth to the departed spirits.

Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeable crowd from the city was with her.When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her and said to her,“ Do not go on weeping.”And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said,“ Young man, I say to you, arise!”And the dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother.Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying,“ A great prophet has appeared among us!” and,“ God has visited His people!”

The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor do any who go down into silence;

While He was still speaking, people* came from the house of the synagogue official, saying,“ Your daughter has died; why bother the Teacher further?”But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken,* said to the synagogue official,“ Do not be afraid, only believe.”

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.But when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written:“ Death has been swallowed up in victory.Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law;but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones.He had me pass among them all around, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and behold, they were very dry.Then He said to me,“ Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered,“ Lord God, You Yourself know.”Again He said to me,“ Prophesy over these bones and say to them,‘ You dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’This is what the Lord God says to these bones:‘ Behold, I am going to make breath enter you so that you may come to life.And I will attach tendons to you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin, and put breath in you so that you may come to life; and you will know that I am the Lord.’ ”So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a loud noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.And I looked, and behold, tendons were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.Then He said to me,“ Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath,‘ The Lord God says this:“ Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, so that they come to life.” ’ ”So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath entered them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.Then He said to me,“ Son of man, these bones are the entire house of Israel; behold, they say,‘ Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.’Therefore prophesy and say to them,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Behold, I am going to open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people.And I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken and done it,” declares the Lord.’ ”

I will not die, but live, And tell of the works of the Lord.
