勿容大水沒我、深淵滅我、阱口封於我上兮、

行潦勿淹予、深淵勿沉予、幽冥勿陷予兮、

使我不隨波逐浪、不為深淵所淹沒、不容坑坎陷我而封其口、

拔我兮泥中。脫我兮諸兇。

Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me.

Don’t let the floods cover me. Don’t let the deep water swallow me up. Don’t let the grave close its mouth over me.

Let not the flood sweep over me, or the deep swallow me up, or the pit close its mouth over me.

Don’t let the floods overwhelm me, or the deep waters swallow me, or the pit of death devour me.

Don’t let the floodwaters sweep over me or the deep swallow me up; don’t let the Pit close its mouth over me.

But now thus saith Jehovah that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine.When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

whom God raised up, having loosed the pangs of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water as a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

And he said, I called by reason of mine affliction unto Jehovah, And he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I, And thou heardest my voice.For thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me; All thy waves and thy billows passed over me.And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head.I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, into thy holy temple.

So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol: and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly.And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them; for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.

I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no help,Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the deeps.

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul;Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

he foreseeing this spake of the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he left unto Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.

for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption.
