Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters.

Save me from the trouble I’m in. It’s like slippery mud, so don’t let me sink in it. Save me from those who hate me. Save me from the deep water I’m in.

Deliver me from sinking in the mire; let me be delivered from my enemies and from the deep waters.

And he saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death: abide ye here, and watch.And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; remove this cup from me: howbeit not what I will, but what thou wilt.And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest thou not watch one hour?Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.And again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words.And again he came, and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they knew not what to answer him.And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough; the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.Arise, let us be going: behold, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.Now when Ebed- melech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon( the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin),Ebed- melech went forth out of the king’s house, and spake to the king, saying,My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.Then the king commanded Ebed- melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.So Ebed- melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence rags and worn- out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.And Ebed- melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these rags and worn- out garments under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.So they drew up Jeremiah with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

They have compassed me about also with words of hatred, And fought against me without a cause.

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God?

Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; Neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul;Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in Jehovah.

Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, Neither let the deep swallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

I called upon thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.

But deal thou with me, O Jehovah the Lord, for thy name’s sake: Because thy lovingkindness is good, deliver thou me;

But his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not that this man reign over us.

Consider mine affliction and my travail; And forgive all my sins.Consider mine enemies, for they are many; And they hate me with cruel hatred.

But these mine enemies, that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
