眾乃執耶利米、解於外獄、哈米勒子馬勒家室有井、以繩縋之下、井無水、惟有淤泥、耶利米遂淖於泥中。王宮內豎古實人以伯米勒、聞人縋耶利米下井、知王坐於便雅憫門、則出宮覲王曰、我王與、我主與、有人作不端、下先知耶利米於眢井、在邑內食且無餅、況在井中、有不饑而死乎。王諭古實人以伯米勒曰、當召三十人、乘先知耶利米未死、出之於井。以伯米勒率眾、入王宮、於府庫中、取布之舊且敝者、繫之以繩、縋於井中、至耶利米所、告之曰、以舊且敝之布、裹此二繩、置於腋下。耶利米如言而行。於是人以繩曳耶利米、出之於井、使居外獄。

四方之人、謠諑叢興、環而攻予、出於無因兮、

予也中心如渴、慕永生之上帝兮、不識何時、得造其前兮、

彼兮為予仇敵、銜憾實深、皆出無因、勿使其克予而欣喜、勿使其白眼而藐視兮、

波濤澎湃、其勢洶湧、早已淹予兮、

我惟耶和華是賴、彼傾耳聽我祈兮、救我於深淵、出我於淤泥、使我固立、若處重巖兮。於是我歌新詩、讚美我上帝、眾見而寅畏、惟耶和華是恃兮、

行潦勿淹予、深淵勿沉予、幽冥勿陷予兮、

我於井中、籲耶和華名兮。

我主耶和華兮、爾仁慈可嘉、望爾拯救、彰厥鴻恩兮、

其民憾之、遣使於後、訴曰、我儕不欲斯人君我也、

悲痛不勝、望爾俯念、尚其赦予之罪惡兮、仇敵眾多、咸痛心而啣憾、望爾垂鑒兮、

其不欲我君之、而為我敵者、曳來誅於我前、○
