The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked.

Godly people will be glad when those who have hurt them are paid back. They will dip their feet in the blood of those who do evil.

The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.

The godly will rejoice in the Lord and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.

The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are struck silent.

“ Lord, may all your enemies die like Sisera! But may those who love you rise like the sun in all its power!” Then there was peace in the land for forty years.

The whole city celebrates when the godly succeed; they shout for joy when the wicked die.

And they said,“ We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was, for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign.The nations were filled with wrath, but now the time of your wrath has come. It is time to judge the dead and reward your servants the prophets, as well as your holy people, and all who fear your name, from the least to the greatest. It is time to destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth.”

My steps were awash in cream, and the rocks gushed olive oil for me.

The righteous will see it and be amazed. They will laugh and say,

“ The righteous will be happy to see the wicked destroyed, and the innocent will laugh in contempt.

Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

“ Rejoice with him, you heavens, and let all of God’s angels worship him. Rejoice with his people, you Gentiles, and let all the angels be strengthened in him. For he will avenge the blood of his children; he will take revenge against his enemies. He will repay those who hate him and cleanse his people’s land.”

Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives.Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God.But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy.

Praise the Lord!”And from the throne came a voice that said,“ Praise our God, all his servants, all who fear him, from the least to the greatest.”Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder:“ Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
