其時爾等將追尋於予、而不獲見予、以予之所在、非爾之所能詣也。』

拯我於深壑。拔我於泥中。置我磐石上。安步且從容。

吾今則樂甚；非樂爾等之憂戚、乃樂爾等因憂戚而致悔改耳。爾等之憂戚、既允合天主聖意、則固未因吾人而受損也。蓋正當之憂戚、令人悔改、而蒙救恩；亦何悔之有？惟世俗之憂戚、乃致死耳。

吾人既受其教、自應痛絕邪妄之人欲。立身處世、寧靜淡泊、孳孳為善、

是以聞道而能篤實履踐者、譬諸有識者建屋於磐石之上、雨降潦行、颶風倏起、相與衝而擊之、而其屋屹然不動者、其基固也。聞而不行、則猶無知者建屋於沙礫之上、雨降潦行、颶風倏起、相與衝而擊之、而其屋頹然傾圮、而不堪收拾矣。

閒人坐於城門而以予為談資兮。酒徒亦將予編入醉後之歌詞。予惟吾主兮是怙。求主及時兮祐護。按爾之仁兮。聽予之訴。依爾之信兮。鑒予之苦。拔我兮泥中。脫我兮諸兇。

洪濤洶湧狂瀾奔。大水駸駸沒吾魂。

天主慰吾儕於憂患之中、亦欲吾儕以所見慰於天主者、轉慰他人於憂患中耳。

引手濟吾溺。全我於夷蠻。

『汝倘能於此日、恍然了悟平安之所自、豈不美乎？奈何至今！汝目猶有所蒙也。定期將至、爾敵將周圍築壘、四面相逼、夷爾墉堞、滅爾子民、將無一片之石、仍留他石之上、凡此皆緣汝不識寵眷之日故也。』

蛇乃向婦去處噴水成渠、意欲漂而溺之；地坼、盡吸龍所噴之水以援婦。

然吾之所以蒙矜憐者、蓋基督耶穌欲以我為先例、以昭示其無荒不包之雅量、庶幾後之信者、聞風而興、以承永生。

為我再造。純白之心。正氣內蘊。煥然一新。慈顏常照。聖神恆存。救恩不匱。
