But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety at home and to repay their parents; for this is good and acceptable before God.

And many such things you do.”

And they shall say to the elders of his city,‘ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones; so you shall put away the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

For God commanded, saying,‘ Honor your father and your mother’; and,‘ He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’But you say,‘ Whoever says to his father or mother,“ Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”—then he need not honor his father or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
