those who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not cleansed of their filth;

Some are pure in their own eyes. But their dirty sins haven’t been washed away.

There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth.

They are pure in their own eyes, but they are filthy and unwashed.

Yet you say,‘ Because I am innocent, Surely His anger shall turn from me.’ Behold, I will plead My case against you, Because you say,‘ I have not sinned.’

having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Who say,‘ Keep to yourself, Do not come near me, For I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day.

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

And He said to them,“ You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

“ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil,

To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes, When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, That you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.

“ In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Then the Lord said to him,“ Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?

The man Micah had a shrine, and made an ephod and household idols; and he consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

‘ I am pure, without transgression; I am innocent, and there is no iniquity in me.

Then Samuel went to Saul, and Saul said to him,“ Blessed are you of the Lord! I have performed the commandment of the Lord.”But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?”

For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, Yet your iniquity is marked before Me,” says the Lord GOD.“ How can you say,‘ I am not polluted, I have not gone after the Baals’? See your way in the valley; Know what you have done: You are a swift dromedary breaking loose in her ways,A wild donkey used to the wilderness, That sniffs at the wind in her desire; In her time of mating, who can turn her away? All those who seek her will not weary themselves; In her month they will find her.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

Then Micah said,“ Now I know that the Lord will be good to me, since I have a Levite as priest!”
