斯時呼籲我、我弗應、切尋我、而弗得、

斯時籲我、而我弗聽、竭力求恩、而不可得。

斯時呼籲我而我不應、尋求我而不得遇、

“ Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me,

Someday these sinners will cry to the LORD for help, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time, because they have done such wicked deeds.”

you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.

Does God listen to his cry when distress overtakes him?

So I, the LORD, say this:‘ I will soon bring disaster on them which they will not be able to escape! When they cry out to me for help, I will not listen to them.

Even if they fast, I will not hear their cries for help. Even if they offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will kill them through wars, famines, and plagues.”

“‘ It then came about that just as I cried out, but they would not obey, so they will cry out, but I will not listen,’ the LORD LORD WHO RULES OVER ALL had said.

When you spread out your hands in prayer, I look the other way; when you offer your many prayers, I do not listen, because your hands are covered with blood.

Therefore I will act with fury! My eye will not pity them nor will I spare them. When they have shouted in my ears, I will not listen to them.”

But while they had gone to buy it, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with him to the wedding banquet. Then the door was shut.Later, the other virgins came too, saying,‘ Lord, lord! Let us in!’But he replied,‘ I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’

On that day, many will say to me,‘ Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful deeds?’Then I will declare to them,‘ I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’

They cry out, but there is no one to help them; they cry out to the LORD, but he does not answer them.

Then they cry out– but he does not answer– because of the arrogance of the wicked.

Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, then you will stand outside and start to knock on the door and beg him,‘ Lord, let us in!’ But he will answer you,‘ I don’t know where you come from.’Then you will begin to say,‘ We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’But he will reply,‘ I don’t know where you come from! Go away from me, all you evildoers!’There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves thrown out.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

When he struck them down, they sought his favor; they turned back and longed for God.They remembered that God was their protector, and that the sovereign God was their deliverer.But they deceived him with their words, and lied to him.

So the LORD said,“ My spirit will not remain in humankind indefinitely, since they are mortal. They will remain for 120 more years.”

Then I will return again to my lair until they have suffered their punishment. Then they will seek me; in their distress they will earnestly seek me.“ Come on! Let’s return to the LORD! He himself has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us! He has injured us, but he will bandage our wounds!He will restore us in a very short time; he will heal us in a little while, so that we may live in his presence.So let us acknowledge him! Let us seek to acknowledge the LORD! He will come to our rescue as certainly as the appearance of the dawn, as certainly as the winter rain comes, as certainly as the spring rain that waters the land.”What am I going to do with you, O Ephraim? What am I going to do with you, O Judah? For your faithfulness is as fleeting as the morning mist; it disappears as quickly as dawn’s dew!
