爾之恐惶、如狂風之來、爾之患難、如颶風之至、罹憂傷、遇窘苦、

爾所懼之災害、迫切之患難、突如其來、如颶風之倏至。

可懼之事、臨若狂風、災害至如暴風、爾遭患難、受窘迫、

The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will certainly not allow the wicked to go unpunished. He marches out in the whirlwind and the raging storm; dark storm clouds billow like dust under his feet.

There will be affliction and distress on everyone who does evil, on the Jew first and also the Greek,

You will not be afraid of sudden disaster, or when destruction overtakes the wicked;for the LORD will be the source of your confidence, and he will guard your foot from being caught in a trap.

Before the kindling is even placed under your pots, he will sweep it away along with both the raw and cooked meat.

May their dining table become a trap before them! May it be a snare for that group of friends!May their eyes be blinded! Make them shake violently!Pour out your judgment on them! May your raging anger overtake them!May their camp become desolate, their tents uninhabited!For they harass the one whom you discipline; they spread the news about the suffering of those whom you punish.Hold them accountable for all their sins! Do not vindicate them!May their names be deleted from the scroll of the living! Do not let their names be listed with the godly!

Then the kings of the earth, the very important people, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.They said to the mountains and to the rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”

Though these people make an uproar as loud as the roaring of powerful waves, when he shouts at them, they will flee to a distant land, driven before the wind like dead weeds on the hills, or like dead thistles before a strong gale.

Now when they are saying,“ There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will surely not escape.

What the wicked fears will come on him; what the righteous desire will be granted.When the storm passes through, the wicked are swept away, but the righteous are an everlasting foundation.

Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress on the earth and wrath against this people.They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away as captives among all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.“ And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress, anxious over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves.People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

“ But be on your guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap.For it will overtake all who live on the face of the whole earth.
