They quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!

民與摩西爭曰、以水給我飲、摩西謂之曰、何與我爭、何試主、

摩西言竟、彼眾所立之地分裂、地啟口、吞可拉一黨與其幕、及可拉之人丁貨財、彼眾及凡所有、生墮示阿勒、後為地所覆、滅於會中、以色列人在其四周、聞其號呼則遁、曰、恐我儕亦為地所吞、又有火出自主前、燬其獻香者二百五十人、○

當時會眾大聲號呼、是夜、民皆哭泣、以色列人眾怨摩西亞倫曰、我儕甯死於伊及地、或死於此曠野、

為可拉之事而死者外、遭疫癘而死者、計一萬四千七百人、

眾民怨讟、主聞不悅、震怒、使火焚於其中、燬營之邊隅、

摩西所遣窺探其地之人、返而讒毀其地、使會眾怨讟摩西、此讒毀其地之人、皆遇疫癘、死於主前、

肉猶在齒間、尚未食盡、主向斯民震怒、降之以重災、因在彼葬有慾心之民、故稱其地日基博羅特哈他瓦、譯即有慾者墓之義

以色列會眾在曠野、怨摩西亞倫、以色列人謂之曰、願主使我死於伊及地、我在彼有肉盈釜、有餅可飽、何導我於此曠野、使斯眾饑而死乎、

緣不閉懷我之胎、不掩患難於我目、我何不胎墮而死、何不出胎而氣絕、

亡於鋒刃者、較死於饑饉者猶為幸、死於饑饉者、土產罄盡、日漸衰微、
