I gave orders to purify the rooms, and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense.

對他們說：『利未人哪，你們要聽我說；現在你們要潔淨自己為聖，也使永恆主你們列祖之上帝的殿潔淨為聖，從聖所中把污穢之物拿出來。

祭司利未人守盡他們的上帝所吩咐的職守和律法所定的職守；歌唱的和守門的照大衛和他兒子所羅門的命令也這樣行。

聚集他們的族弟兄，潔淨自己為聖，照王所吩咐、根據永恆主的話、進去潔淨永恆主的殿。祭司進入永恆主之殿裏面，要潔淨聖殿，將永恆主殿堂裏所發現一切污穢之物拿出來到永恆主之殿的院子；利未人接去，拿出去到外頭汲淪谿谷旁邊。正月初一日開始潔淨為聖，那一月初八日潔聖到永恆主的廊子；他們潔聖永恆主的殿、潔聖了八天、到正月十六日才作完。於是他們進到裏面去見希西家王說：我們已把永恆主之殿的全部：燻祭壇和壇的一切器皿、神前餅陳設的桌子和桌子的一切器皿、都清理潔淨了。並且亞哈斯王執掌國政不忠實時候所屏棄的器皿我們也都整理齊全，把它們都潔淨為聖了，看哪，它們都在永恆主的祭壇前呢。』
