“ When the neighboring peoples bring merchandise or grain to sell on the Sabbath, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on any holy day. Every seventh year we will forgo working the land and will cancel all debts.

“ The people around us will bring goods and grain to sell on the Sabbath day. But we won’t buy anything from them on the Sabbath day. In fact, we won’t buy anything from them on any holy day. Every seventh year we won’t farm the land. And we’ll forgive people what they owe us.

And if the peoples of the land bring in goods or any grain on the Sabbath day to sell, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on a holy day. And we will forego the crops of the seventh year and the exaction of every debt.

“ We also promise that if the people of the land should bring any merchandise or grain to be sold on the Sabbath or on any other holy day, we will refuse to buy it. Every seventh year we will let our land rest, and we will cancel all debts owed to us.

六日間、宜操作、至七日、乃安息、是為聖會、無論何工、俱勿作、在爾所居之處、必守是日為耶和華之安息日、

時、我見猶大地、有人於安息日、踐醡運穀、以驢負載、且荷酒葡萄無花菓、及諸負擔、於安息日進耶路撒冷、在其鬻食物之日、我警戒之、有推羅人居其中、攜魚及諸貨物、安息日鬻於猶大人、在耶路撒冷、我斥責猶大顯者曰、爾奚行此惡、以犯安息日、昔爾列祖、豈非行是、致我上帝降諸災於我儕、及斯邑乎、爾今又犯安息、使怒及於以色列、尤有甚焉、我於安息日前夕、耶路撒冷邑門昏黑之時、即命閉之、安息日後方啟、又委我僕數人監門、免人於安息日負荷入邑、商賈及鬻諸貨物者、一再宿於耶路撒冷外、我戒之曰、爾奚附垣而宿、如再行此、我必執爾、此後安息日、彼不復至、我命利未人潔己而至、監守邑門、使安息日為聖、我上帝歟、尚其垂念我、依爾鴻慈矜憫我、○

我所選之禁食、豈非釋凶惡之索、解人之負、縱受屈者自逸、而折諸軛乎、

維時、民與其婦號呼、怨其同宗猶大人、或曰、我及子女人多、當得穀食之以生存、或曰、我質田畝、葡萄園、及第宅、因饑饉以得穀、或曰、我以田畝、及葡萄園、貸金納王之稅、我身如人之身、我子如人之子、今使子女為奴、我中已有數女為婢、欲免此而無力、蓋我之田畝葡萄園、為人所有、我聞民之號呼、及其所言、則怒甚、中心籌畫、責顯者及民長曰、爾於同宗索利、我遂集大會以攻之、謂之曰、我同宗猶大人鬻於異邦、我儕盡力贖之、爾曹乃鬻同宗、且鬻於我儕耶、彼眾默然、無詞以對、我又曰、爾曹所為不善、爾之行事、不當寅畏我之上帝、免我敵諸國之謗乎、我與同宗及僕、亦以金穀貸民、求爾與我、免其利息、今請以其田疇、葡萄園、橄欖園、及第宅、並所取金穀酒油百一之利、悉反之、眾曰、我必反之、不取於彼、咸遵爾言、我遂召祭司至、使眾發誓、踐其所許、我則振衣曰、凡不踐其言者、願上帝如是振之、俾離家室、及其職業、使之匱乏、會眾曰、阿們、遂頌讚耶和華、民依所許而行、

應耶和華藉耶利米口所言、斯土享其安息、蓋地荒蕪、得其安息、盈七十年、○

耶和華於西乃山諭摩西曰、告以色列族云、爾既入我所錫之地、當為耶和華休息土壤、六年間、耕種田畝、治理葡萄、斂其所產、越至七年、土壤安息、為耶和華肅守之、斯時田畝勿耕、葡萄勿治、禾稼之不殖而生者、勿穫、葡萄之不治而實者、勿摘、蓋是年其土乃休息、安息年之土產、為爾及僕婢傭人賓旅所食、爾之六畜野獸、亦得而食之、○

蓋未施矜恤者、其受鞫亦不獲矜恤、夫矜恤也、必勝乎鞫、○

主憐而釋之、免其債、僕出、遇同儕負其十金、執之、扼其吭曰、爾所負者償之、同儕伏而求曰、寬我、我將償爾、弗許、下之獄、俟償所負、諸同儕見之憂甚、以其所行赴愬於主、主召之曰、惡哉僕也、爾所負者求我、則盡免之、不當矜恤同儕、猶我矜恤爾乎、主怒、付之皂隸、俟盡償所負、爾眾不誠恕兄弟、則我天父亦將如是施諸爾、

爾上帝耶和華賜爾之地、無論何邑、有窮乏之昆弟、毋頑爾心、握手而不之濟、必啟爾手、貸之以補其缺、慎勿惡念是懷、謂七年豁免之期伊邇、遂睥睨貧乏之昆弟、而弗之給、致彼籲耶和華、罪歸於爾、

每屆七年、當有豁免、其例如左、耶和華之豁免、既經布告、凡借貸於鄰者、必豁免之、不索其償、如外人可索之、惟屬己之物、貸於兄弟者、則當豁免、

求免我負、如我免人、

首日有聖會、毋作苦、此七日間、日獻火祭於耶和華、越至八日、亦為聖會、必獻火祭於耶和華、斯為肅會、毋作苦、○

首日必集聖會、七日亦集聖會、是二日、勿操作、惟備食而已、

是日必宣告有聖會、毋作苦、在爾所居之處、著為永例、歷世弗替、

耶和華曰、爾其慎旃、於安息日、毋荷擔以入耶路撒冷門、安息日、毋荷擔而出爾室、亦勿操作、宜以安息日為聖、如我命爾列祖者、

是以勿因飲食、節期、月朔、安息日、被人擬議、

當守安息日、以為聖日、遵爾上帝耶和華所命、六日間、宜勤勞、作爾庶務、惟七日、乃爾上帝耶和華之安息、是日爾與子女、僕婢牛驢、暨諸牲畜、及寓爾家之遠人、皆毋操作、使爾僕婢休憩、與爾無異、

如爾於我安息聖日、防閑爾足、稱為可喜可尊、於耶和華之聖日、不行己道、不營己事、不出虛言、則必緣耶和華而樂、我將使爾駕行地之高處、俾享爾祖雅各之業、耶和華口言之矣、
