耶穌知而訓之曰：『奚以無餅為念？爾等今猶未見且未悟乎？豈爾心冥頑不靈、有目不見、有耳不聞耶？盍憶予昔以五餅分食五千人、爾檢其餘得若干筐？』曰：『十二。』『又以七餅食四千人、爾檢其餘、復得若干筐？』曰『七。』耶穌曰：『然則猶不悟耶？』

耶穌怒視周眾、哀其心之麻木不仁。顧謂痺手者曰：『伸爾手。』伸之手立愈。

耶穌謂之曰：『愚人哉！何爾心之冥頑、而不信歷來先知之所言乎？

答曰：『汝亦若斯無識耶？豈不知自外入者、不能浼人、

爾曹豈猶未悟？獨不憶五餅食五千人、而猶得若干筐；七餅食四千人、而猶得若干筐乎？吾謂慎防法利塞撒杜責之酵、非言餅也。爾曹尚無悟乎？』

然則如何？曰：義塞之所求、未之得也、其中蒙恩者得之、而其餘則已成麻木不仁之徒矣。
