But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

伯鐸祿力辯曰：『即須偕子致命、亦決不否認也！』餘子亦同聲矢誠。

But Peter insisted emphatically,“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.

But Peter would not give in. He said,“ I may have to die with you. But I will never say I don’t know you.” And all the others said the same thing.

But he said emphatically,“ If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same.

“ No!” Peter declared emphatically.“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the others vowed the same.

But he kept insisting,“ If I have to die with you, I will never deny you.” And they all said the same thing.

But Peter repeatedly said insistently,“ Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing as well.

But he spoke more vehemently,“ If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all said likewise.

But he spake exceeding vehemently, If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And in like manner also said they all.

But he kept insisting,“ If I have to die with You, I will never deny You!” And they all said the same thing.

But Peter insisted emphatically,“ Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” And all of them said the same thing.

But he spoke all the more,“ If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.

Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear[ it], and do[ it].And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

A man[ that hath] friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend[ that] sticketh closer than a brother.

Pride[ goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

The heart[ is] deceitful above all[ things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?

O LORD, I know that the way of man[ is] not in himself:[ it is] not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

And Hazael said, But what,[ is] thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath shewed me that thou[ shalt be] king over Syria.

A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
