没有人能回答他一句话。从那天起，再也没有人敢质问耶稣了。

坚守那合乎教导的信实话语；这是为了要他不但能用健全的教义劝勉人，而且能使那些反对的人知罪。因为实在有许多不服从的、讲虚妄话的、欺骗人的，尤其是那些属于割礼派的人；必须堵住这些人的口。他们为了不正当的利益，教导不该教导的事，把许多人的整个家庭都破坏了。

你们的话语总要带着恩惠，像用盐调和过的，好使你们知道该怎样回答每一个人。

我们知道，律法上的一切话都是对律法之下的人讲的，好堵住每个人的口，使全世界的人都在神的审判之下有罪，因为没有一个人本于律法上的行为在神面前被称为义；原来，藉着律法，只能对罪有真正的认识。

我从前活在律法之外，但是诫命一来，罪就活起来了，

压伤的芦苇，他不折断；将熄的灯火，他不吹灭，直到他使公义得胜，

原来藉着律法，我已经向律法死了，使我能向神活着。我已经和基督一起被钉十字架，
