Answering Jesus, they* said,“ We do not know.” And Jesus* said to them,“ Neither am I telling you by what authority I do these things.”

遂對曰、不知也、耶穌曰、我亦不告爾以何權行是矣、

遂對曰不知、耶穌曰、我亦不以何權行是告爾也、

遂對耶穌曰、我儕不知、耶穌曰、我亦不告爾我以何權行此諸事、

乃答不知。耶穌曰：『則吾亦不願告爾憑何權而行此矣。』

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Jesus said,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Jesus said,“ Then I won’t tell you by what authority I am doing these things either.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We do not know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

So they finally replied,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus responded,“ Then I won’t tell you by what authority I do these things.”

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

So they answered and said to Jesus,“ We do not know.” And Jesus answered and said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

And they answered Jesus and say, We know not. And Jesus saith unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” And Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

So they answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Then Jesus said to them,“ Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

They answered Jesus,“ We don’t know.” Jesus said to them,“ Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

He answered them,“ I told you already and you did not listen; why do you want to hear it again? You do not want to become His disciples too, do you?”

And so they answered that they did not know where it came from.And Jesus said to them,“ Neither am I telling you by what authority I do these things.”

But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts;

An ox knows its owner, And a donkey its master’s manger, But Israel does not know, My people do not understand.”

Be delayed and horrified, Blind yourselves and be blind; They become drunk, but not with wine, They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.For the Lord has poured over you a spirit of deep sleep, He has shut your eyes— the prophets; And He has covered your heads— the seers.The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which, when they give it to the one who is literate, saying,“ Please read this,” he will say,“ I cannot, because it is sealed.”Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying,“ Please read this.” And he will say,“ I cannot read.”Then the Lord said,“ Because this people approaches Me with their words And honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me, And their reverence for Me consists of the commandment of men that is taught;Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the understanding of their men who have understanding will be concealed.”

Leave them alone; they are blind guides of blind people. And if a person who is blind guides another who is blind, both will fall into a pit.”

An evil and adulterous generation wants a sign; and so a sign will not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah.” And He left them and went away.

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple is obligated.’You fools and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the temple that sanctified the gold?And you say,‘ Whoever swears by the altar, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the offering that is on it is obligated.’You blind men, which is more important, the offering or the altar that sanctifies the offering?Therefore, the one who swears by the altar, swears both by the altar and by everything on it.And the one who swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells in it.And the one who swears by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self indulgence.You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may also become clean.

When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,“ If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them,“ If I tell you, you will not believe;and if I ask a question, you will not answer.But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

Even the stork in the sky Knows her seasons; And the turtledove, the swallow, and the crane Keep to the time of their migration; But My people do not know The judgment of the Lord.“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, And the Law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes Has made it into a lie.The wise men are put to shame, They are dismayed and caught; Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord, So what kind of wisdom do they have?

Do not answer a fool according to his foolishness, Or you will also be like him.Answer a fool as his foolishness deserves, So that he will not be wise in his own eyes.

and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved.For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

And answering Jesus, they said,“ We do not know.” He also said to them,“ Neither am I telling you by what authority I do these things.

He captures the wise by their own cleverness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,

Who is blind but My servant, Or so deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is so blind as one who is at peace with Me, Or so blind as the servant of the Lord?You have seen many things, but you do not retain them; Your ears are open, but no one hears.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Since you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I also will forget your children.

At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for doing so was well pleasing in Your sight.All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son determines to reveal Him.”

His watchmen are blind, All of them know nothing. All of them are mute dogs unable to bark, Dreamers lying down, who love to slumber;

Jesus answered and said to him,“ You are the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?

And He said,“ Go, and tell this people:‘ Keep on listening, but do not understand; And keep on looking, but do not gain knowledge.’Make the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes blind, So that they will not see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed.”

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened.Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

For the lips of a priest should maintain knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of armies.But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the instruction; you have ruined the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of armies.
