耶穌見其狀、而告眾曰：『難矣哉！富人之進天主國也。

耶穌乃謂門徒曰：『我實語爾、難矣哉、富人之進天國也！吾謂駝經鍼孔、較富人之進天國猶易。』徒聞斯語、殊為詫異、曰：『然則誰能獲靈救歟？』耶穌目之曰：『在人固屬不能、在天主則無所不能。』

耶穌對曰：『我切實語爾、人非生於水及神者、無得入天主國。

『吾實告爾爾若不幡然化為赤子、則末由進天國。

親愛之兄弟、爾其諦聽、斯世之貧人、乃天主之所眷顧、使其富於信德、而簡為天國之嗣子。蓋天國特為愛慕天主之人而設也。

嗚呼、爾亦不淑也已！豈不知與世為友、即與天主為仇乎？閹然媚世者、不能取悅於天主矣。

且吾主耶穌基督永久之天國、當為爾洞開厥門、沛然莫之能阻。

吾誠語爾、凡不以赤子之心承天主國者、莫得而進焉。』
