And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said,“ Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”

有鬼能使人啞、耶穌逐之。鬼既出、啞者言、眾皆歎異。

有攜一聾瘖者至、求耶穌撫之。耶穌引之出人叢、至僻處、以指探其耳、唾而按其舌、仰天嘆曰：『伊咈大、』譯言、『啟。』耳應聲而啟、舌結亦解、發音清晰。耶穌戒勿告人、詎愈戒而愈揚。眾皆不勝嘆異曰、『是其所為、靡有不善；直使聾者聰、而瘖者言矣。』

即之者甚眾、紛攜瘖盲跛廢等人、置耶穌足前、悉為治之。眾見瘖者言、殘者全、跛者行、瞽者明、乃翕然嘆服、而歸榮於義塞之天主。

其人起、亟於眾前攜褥而出。眾奇之、歸榮天主曰：『如此靈蹟、向所未睹。』

耶穌聞而奇之、顧謂從者曰：『予實語爾、具此大信、即猶太中亦未之前睹。』
