For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.

But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tiny stroke of a letter in the law to become void.

so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

But when the appropriate time had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,to redeem those who were under the law, so that we may be adopted as sons with full rights.

Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not! Instead we uphold the law.

The LORD wanted to exhibit his justice by magnifying his law and displaying it.

What I am saying is this: The law that came four hundred thirty years later does not cancel a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to invalidate the promise.For if the inheritance is based on the law, it is no longer based on the promise, but God graciously gave it to Abraham through the promise.Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the descendant to whom the promise had been made. It was administered through angels by an intermediary.Now an intermediary is not for one party alone, but God is one.Is the law therefore opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.But the scripture imprisoned everything and everyone under sin so that the promise could be given– because of the faithfulness of Jesus Christ– to those who believe.Now before faith came we were held in custody under the law, being kept as prisoners until the coming faith would be revealed.Thus the law had become our guardian until Christ, so that we could be declared righteous by faith.

In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.

Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days–these are only the shadow of the things to come, but the reality is Christ!

Receiving sacrifices and offerings are not your primary concern. You make that quite clear to me! You do not ask for burnt sacrifices and sin offerings.Then I say,“ Look! I come! What is written in the scroll pertains to me.I want to do what pleases you, my God. Your law dominates my thoughts.”

But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year.For the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins.So when he came into the world, he said,“ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.“ Whole burnt offerings and sin- offerings you took no delight in.“ Then I said,‘ Here I am: I have come– it is written of me in the scroll of the book– to do your will, O God.’”When he says above,“ Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sin- offerings you did not desire nor did you take delight in them”( which are offered according to the law),then he says,“ Here I am: I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first to establish the second.By his will we have been made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.And every priest stands day after day serving and offering the same sacrifices again and again– sacrifices that can never take away sins.But when this priest had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right hand of God,

So Jesus replied to him,“ Let it happen now, for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John yielded to him.

They brought forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop saying things against this holy place and the law.

In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death such women. What then do you say?”

saying,“ This man is persuading people to worship God in a way contrary to the law!”

shouting,“ Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this sanctuary! Furthermore he has brought Greeks into the inner courts of the temple and made this holy place ritually unclean!”
