維時、耶穌立於日內色湖濱、眾爭欲聆天主道、不勝擁擠、耶穌見二舟泊湖邊、漁人在外滌網、其一為西門所有；耶穌登焉、囑移舟稍離岸、乃坐而訓眾。訓畢、謂西門曰：『放舟深處、下網捕魚。』西門曰：『吾儕通宵操勞、一鱗無獲、茲尊爾示、當復下網。』網下、果獲多魚；網且裂。乃招鄰舟漁伴前來相助。兩舟滿載、舟亦幾沉。西門伯鐸祿睹此、俯伏耶穌膝下、曰：『主其離我罪人。』蓋伯鐸祿及其舟人、乃至其夥慈伯德二子、雅谷伯若望、睹此一網所得之魚、舉不勝驚愕也。耶穌謂西門曰：『毋懼！今而後汝當為生靈之漁父矣。』彼等既曳舟上岸、盡棄所有、以從耶穌。

予亦語汝、汝乃磐石、予將建吾教會於斯石上、地獄之門、無以勝之。

厥後、耶穌渡加利利海、亦名諦比略湖。

雅各伯生瑪莉雅淨配若瑟、瑪莉雅生耶穌、是為基利斯督。計自亞伯漢至大維、凡十四代；自大維至徙巴比倫時、亦十四代；自徙巴比倫至基利斯督、又十四代。基督之誕生、其事如次：母氏瑪莉雅、既字若瑟、未同室、感聖神而懷孕。

厥後、耶穌於諦比略海濱、復見於諸徒、其事如次：

復拔大維。充其忠僕。本在牧場。羊群是督。主獨舉之。使為民牧。以治義塞。以正雅谷。勵精圖治。盡其忠慤。納民軌物。實憑經略。

耶穌出諦羅境、過西同、經低加波利、而抵加利利海濱。

雖然、世俗所視為愚者、天主則簡拔之、以愧眾哲；世俗所視為弱者、天主則簡拔之、以勝強有力者；世俗所認為卑卑不足道而視若無物者、天主則簡拔之、以毀滅有名無實之徒；庶幾血肉之身、無敢自衒自誇於天主之前。

徒中有安德烈者即西門伯鐸祿之兄、謂耶穌曰：
