and said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

and declared,“ This fellow said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

They said,“ This fellow claimed,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God. I can build it again in three days.’ ”

and said,“ This man said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’”

who declared,“ This man said,‘ I am able to destroy the Temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

stated,“ This man said,‘ I can destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

and said,“ This man stated,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’ ”

Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?But he spake of the temple of his body.

and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ha! thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not.

Thus saith Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of Jehovah that is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.

But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised of the people.All they that see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold on him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.Why hast thou prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered unto Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.And when the princes of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house unto the house of Jehovah; and they sat in the entry of the new gate of Jehovah’s house.Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy of death; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.

We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.

And they said, Stand back. And they said, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and drew near to break the door.

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this man perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cæsar, and saying that he himself is Christ a king.

saying, This man persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak words against this holy place, and the law:for we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered unto us.

Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets: This man is not worthy of death; for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah our God.Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? did he not fear Jehovah, and entreat the favor of Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus should we commit great evil against our own souls.

And they gave him audience unto this word; and they lifted up their voice, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
