基督在世之日、大聲疾呼涕淚漣如、哀求全能者拯之出死、卒以其克懷寅畏、而蒙垂聽。

閒人坐於城門而以予為談資兮。酒徒亦將予編入醉後之歌詞。予惟吾主兮是怙。求主及時兮祐護。按爾之仁兮。聽予之訴。依爾之信兮。鑒予之苦。拔我兮泥中。脫我兮諸兇。

耶穌出、至其常遊之忠果山、諸徒從。既至、諭諸徒曰：『宜虔禱、庶免陷誘。』主乃前行、離徒約擲石之地、跪而禱曰：『父若願者、請免我飲此爵；雖然、勿順吾意、惟遵爾旨。』有天神降現、加以慰勉、時耶穌憂鬱至極、祈禱彌切、汗如血珠、滴滴入地、禱畢而起、至門徒處、見其困憂而睡、謂之曰：『胡為睡耶？起而禱！庶免陷誘。』

行至熱色瑪倪山園、耶穌謂諸徒曰：『爾等且坐於斯、待我祈禱。』惟攜伯鐸祿雅谷伯若望與俱。時心緒惶惶、不勝憂悶、告其徒曰：『吾心鬱悒、悲苦欲絕！爾曹留此儆守。』少進、跪伏於地而禱、謂：『苟屬可能、願免歷此難時。』又曰：『阿爸！全能者父！盍免我飲此爵！雖然、莫從吾意、惟循父旨。』及返、見諸徒皆睡、呼伯鐸祿曰：『西門睡耶？竟弗克儆守半晷！宜儆守祈禱、庶免陷於外誘；心志誠毅、形驅則餒。』復往禱如前、再返、見諸徒仍睡、厥目昏沉、不知所對、三返、謂徒曰：『為時無多、爾且小休。已矣！時至矣！人子即將被付於罪人之手！可起而行！鬻我者不旋踵而至矣！』

言畢偕諸徒出過翠柏澗入山園。耶穌常偕其徒遊此、故奸徒茹答斯亦稔其地。時茹答斯乃領兵士一隊、與司祭長法利塞人所派人員、提燈炬、執武器而至。耶穌夙知諸事之必臨於身、乃出而謂之曰：『爾等覓誰？』眾對曰：『納匝勒之耶穌！』耶穌告之曰：『是我！』時奸徒茹答斯亦立眾中。耶穌甫言：「是我、」眾皆逡巡仆地。耶穌乃復問曰：『爾等覓誰？』眾曰『納匝勒之耶穌也！』耶穌曰：『已語爾是我；既欲執我、請勿累及此輩、任其散去。』此亦所以應驗其所言「凡父所賜於予者、一無所失」云耳。西門伯鐸祿乃抽所佩刃、擊大司祭僕、名馬勒古者、削其右耳。耶穌謂伯鐸祿曰『收刃入鞘、父所賜我之爵、可不飲乎？』
