“主人回答他们其中的一个人，说：‘朋友，我并没有亏负你。我们不是彼此说好了一个银币吗？

家主回答其中的一人說：『朋友，我不虧負你，你與我講定的不是一錢銀子嗎？

主人回答其中的一人說：『朋友，我沒虧待你，你與我講定的不是一個銀幣嗎？

主人回答其中的一人說：『朋友，我沒虧待你，你與我講定的不是一個銀幣嗎？

「園主對他們當中的一個人說，『朋友，我並沒有欠你呀！我們不是講好付你一個銀幣嗎？

家主回答他們當中的一個，說：‘朋友，我並沒有虧待你。你我不是講定了一個銀幣嗎？

家主回答他們中間一個人說：「同伴哪，我不冤你；你不是和我約定了『一日工錢』麼？

「主人回答他們其中的一個人，說：『朋友，我並沒有虧負你。我們不是彼此說好了一個銀幣嗎？

園主謂其人曰、友、我未嘗負爾、爾非與我約金一錢乎、

園主謂其人曰、友、我未嘗不公待爾、爾非與我約金一錢乎、

園主謂其中一人曰、友、我未負爾、爾與我約、非一第拿流乎、

主謂其一曰：「友乎、我未負爾；爾非與我約以一錢乎？

“ The owner answered one of them.‘ Friend,’ he said,‘ I’m being fair to you. Didn’t you agree to work for the usual day’s pay?

But he replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?

“ He answered one of them,‘ Friend, I haven’t been unfair! Didn’t you agree to work all day for the usual wage?

“ He replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?

But he answered and said to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?

But he answered one of them and said,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?

But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a shilling?

“ He replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?

But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

And the landowner replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am not treating you unfairly. Didn’t you agree with me to work for the standard wage?

“ But he answered one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius?

He asked,‘ How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.

Jesus replied,“ Do what you came for, friend.” Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.

What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!For he says to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

He keeps company with evildoers; he associates with the wicked.For he says,‘ There is no profit in trying to please God.’“ So listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do evil, from the Almighty to do wrong.He repays everyone for what they have done; he brings on them what their conduct deserves.It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice.

Can someone who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the just and mighty One?Is he not the One who says to kings,‘ You are worthless,’ and to nobles,‘ You are wicked,’

“ Do you think this is just? You say,‘ I am in the right, not God.’

“ Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?

But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?“ Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,‘ Why did you make me like this?’”

Far be it from you to do such a thing— to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
