苟使信我之一介小子墮入罪中、不如磨石繫頸、沉諸淵海之為愈也。

“凡使这信我的一个小子跌倒的，倒不如把大磨石拴在这人的颈项上，沉在深海里。

“凡使这些信我的小子中的一个跌倒的，倒不如把大磨石拴在这人的颈项上，沉在深海里。

“凡使这些信我的小子中的一个跌倒的，倒不如把大磨石拴在这人的颈项上，沉在深海里。

但不论谁使这样一个小信徒失足犯罪，他的下场比把大磨石拴在他脖子上沉到深海里还要惨。

但无论谁使一个信我的小弟兄犯罪，倒不如拿一块大磨石拴在他的颈项上，把他沉在深海里。

“但无论谁使信我的这些卑微人中的一个绊倒，对那人来说，倒不如脖子上被拴上大磨石，沉到深海里。

「凡使這信我的一個小子跌倒的，倒不如把大磨石拴在這人的頸項上，沉在深海裏。

「凡使這些信我的小子中的一個跌倒的，倒不如把大磨石拴在這人的頸項上，沉在深海裏。

「凡使這些信我的小子中的一個跌倒的，倒不如把大磨石拴在這人的頸項上，沉在深海裏。

但不論誰使這樣一個小信徒失足犯罪，他的下場比把大磨石拴在他脖子上沉到深海裡還要慘。

但無論誰使一個信我的小弟兄犯罪，倒不如拿一塊大磨石拴在他的頸項上，把他沉在深海裡。

凡使這些信我的微小者之一個絆跌的，就使一塊驢牽的磨石掛在他的脖子上，沉在海洋裏，對於他還有益。

「但無論誰使信我的這些卑微人中的一個絆倒，對那人來說，倒不如脖子上被拴上大磨石，沉到深海裡。

陷信我小子之一者、寧以巨磨懸其頸、沉於深海、

若陷信我之小子於罪者、寧以巨磨懸其頸、沉於深海、○

凡使此信我之一小子、陷於罪者、寧以磨石懸其頸、沈於深海、

“ If anyone causes one of these little ones— those who believe in me— to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“ What if someone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin? If they do, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and be drowned at the bottom of the sea.

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“ But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to fall away— it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea.

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“ But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

but whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.

“ But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me— it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea!

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and[ that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

“ But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the open sea.

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck, and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea.

如有使信我之小子、失足而陷罪者、毋寧以磨石繫頸、而被投諸海乎？

耶穌復謂門徒曰：『厲階之生、在所不免；然而甘為厲階者、禍莫大焉！與其使一小子失足陷罪、孰若磨石懸頸、而被投於海之為愈乎！

故望爾曹勿再互相指摘。各宜小心謹慎、切勿樹立梗障、而為兄弟之厲階也。我本人與主耶穌默契、深信天下本無不淨之物。惟人如視任何物為不淨、則斯物之於斯人也、誠為不淨矣。倘爾以食物細故、而貽兄弟以無謂之疑慮、則爾不復以仁愛之道而行矣。夫基督不惜為彼而死、爾乃以爾之食物致彼於死、毋乃不可乎。

故今之加爾以困辱者、天主亦將報之以困辱；爾今遭受困辱、天主必賜爾於主耶穌自天顯示之日、與吾儕同受康寧；公義所在、有不得不然者焉。主之臨也、將有無數大能天神衛之、於烈燄中行施報應。凡不識天主、不願服膺吾主耶穌基督之福音者、皆將受刑、必至永遠沉淪、自絕於主之聖顏及其威光。

在天爾父之不欲失一小子、亦復如是。

慎毋蔑視一介小子；蓋吾語爾、若輩之守護天神、在天常得瞻仰吾父之聖顏焉。

惟爾其慎之、莫使爾之自由、成為弱者躓蹶之由。人若見爾有知者宴於偶像廟中、則無知者亦將背其良心而食祭餘之物矣。是則爾之有知、適足陷稚弱兄弟於淪亡；而基督固為之捨生矣。然則得罪於兄弟、傷害其脆弱之良心、直獲罪於基督耳。是故食物若為吾兄弟躓蹶之緣、吾寧永不食肉、而不敢為兄弟之厲階也。

我聖民。莫虐待。我先知。愼毋害。

無論對猶太人、或希臘人、或聖教同人、皆須小心謹慎、莫為厲階。吾本人之所以和光同塵、舍己從人者、亦欲感化眾人、誘其歸主而已矣。

是故吾人之強於信德者、當為弱者包荒、勿以悅己為事。人人應俯就其鄰友、扶掖其後進、以成其善。蓋基督未嘗以悅己為事。經云：『人之詬爾、我則受之。』

孰若不食肉不飲酒、以免滋人疑惑之為愈乎。

曰：『主、爾何人？』主曰：『受迫耶穌。
