Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him,“ Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

Some of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law came to Jesus. They said,“ Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying,“ Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.”

One day some teachers of religious law and Pharisees came to Jesus and said,“ Teacher, we want you to show us a miraculous sign to prove your authority.”

猶太人求神迹，希利尼人尋智慧，

於是猶太人回答耶穌說：『你作這些事、能把甚麼神迹指給我們看呢？』

法利賽人出來，開始同耶穌辯論，向他求個從天上來的神迹，要試探他。耶穌心靈裏深深地歎息說：『這世代為甚麼求神迹呢？我實在告訴你們，必沒有神迹給這世代的！』

又另有人試探耶穌，向他求個由天而來的神迹。

羣眾越來越多的時候，耶穌又開始講論說：『這世代是個邪惡的世代；它求神迹；但除了約拿的神迹以外、必沒有神迹給它。

於是他們對耶穌說：『那麼你行甚麼神迹、叫我們看見來信你呢？你作甚麼工啊？

耶穌就對他說：『若不看見神迹奇事，你們總是不信的。』

法利賽人和撒都該人上前來，試探耶穌，求他將一個由天而來的神迹顯給他們看。耶穌回答他們說：
