Listen, heavens, and hear, earth; For the Lord has spoken:“ Sons I have raised and brought up, But they have revolted against Me.An ox knows its owner, And a donkey its master’s manger, But Israel does not know, My people do not understand.”Oh, sinful nation, People weighed down with guilt, Offspring of evildoers, Sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord, They have despised the Holy One of Israel, They have turned away from Him.Where will you be stricken again, As you continue in your rebellion? The entire head is sick And the entire heart is faint.

“ But My people did not listen to My voice, And Israel did not obey Me.So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, To walk by their own plans.Oh that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!

with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

“ But what do you think? and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.

And the people were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.

For you are bringing some strange things to our ears; so we want to know what these things mean.”

Later He appeared to the eleven disciples themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reprimanded them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen from the dead.

Answer Me.Indeed, I brought you up from the land of Egypt, I redeemed you from the house of slavery, And I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.My people, remember now What Balak king of Moab planned And what Balaam son of Beor answered him, And what happened from Shittim to Gilgal, So that you might know the righteous acts of the Lord.”

I have listened and heard, They have spoken what is not right; No one repented of his wickedness, Saying,‘ What have I done?’ Everyone turned to his own course, Like a horse charging into the battle.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

And He answered them and* said,“ O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!”

The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands so as not to worship demons and the idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;and they did not repent of their murders, nor of their witchcraft, nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts.
