“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that occurred in you had occurred in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“ How terrible it will be for you, Chorazin! How terrible for you, Bethsaida! Suppose the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon. They would have turned away from their sins long ago. They would have put on clothes for mourning. They would have sat down in ashes.

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“ What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse.

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented in sackcloth and ashes long ago.

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.

these people then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and were making a request of him, saying,“ Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”

And immediately Jesus had His disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He Himself* dismissed the crowd.

When the apostles returned, they gave an account to Him of all that they had done. And taking them with Him, He withdrew privately to a city called Bethsaida.

Now he was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; and with one mind they came to him, and having won over Blastus the king’s chamberlain, they were asking for peace, because their country was supported with grain from the king’s country.

Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard about everything that He was doing and came to Him.

Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

And then Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place; and there was a large crowd of His disciples, and a great multitude of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon,

Again He left the region of Tyre and came through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, within the region of Decapolis.

And they* came to Bethsaida. And some people* brought a man who was blind to Jesus and* begged Him to touch him.

The next Sabbath nearly all the city assembled to hear the word of the Lord.But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul, and were blaspheming.Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said,“ It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first. Since you repudiate it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.For so the Lord has commanded us,‘ I have appointed You as a light to the Gentiles, That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’ ”When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and all who had been appointed to eternal life believed.

Jesus answered,“ Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit.Do not be amazed that I said to you,‘ You must be born again.’The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.”Nicodemus responded and said to Him,“ How can these things be?”Jesus answered and said to him,“ You are the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?

The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

“ Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to the person through whom the stumbling block comes!

Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have given themselves up to the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

nor to many peoples of unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. But I have sent you to the people who understand you;yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are not willing to listen to Me. The entire house of Israel certainly is stubborn and obstinate.

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that occurred in you had occurred in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades!

and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.

“ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut the kingdom of heaven in front of people; for you do not enter it yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

“ But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithes of mint, rue, and every kind of garden herb, and yet you ignore justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the seat of honor in the synagogues and personal greetings in the marketplaces.Woe to you! For you are like unseen tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it.”One of the lawyers* said to Him in reply,“ Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us too.”But He said,“ Woe to you lawyers as well! For you load people with burdens that are hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers.Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and it was your fathers who killed them.So you are witnesses and you approve of the deeds of your fathers; because it was they who killed them, and you build their tombs.For this reason also, the wisdom of God said,‘ I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill, and some they will persecute,so that the blood of all the prophets, shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation,from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the house of God; yes, I tell you, it shall be charged against this generation.’Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering.”

Now Jesus got up and went from there to the region of Tyre. And when He had entered a house, He wanted no one to know about it; and yet He could not escape notice.

The Son of Man is going away just as it is written about Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”

The next day we put in at Sidon; and Julius treated Paul with consideration and allowed him to go to his friends and receive care.

And when they disagreed with one another, they began leaving after Paul said one parting statement:“ The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,saying,‘ Go to this people and say,“ You will keep on hearing, and will not understand; And you will keep on seeing, and will not perceive;For the hearts of this people have become insensitive, And with their ears they hardly hear, And they have closed their eyes; Otherwise they might see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart and return, And I would heal them.” ’Therefore, let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen.”

As for your adulteries and your lustful neighings, The outrageous sin of your prostitution On the hills in the field, I have seen your abominations. Woe to you, Jerusalem! How long will you remain unclean?”

Therefore I retract, And I repent, sitting on dust and ashes.”
